I guess we will see how bad someone needs FNC parts.

What happened to the upper receiver?

From your prices and you selling the lower $899, it looks like maybe you want $5000 for a parted out rifle.

Good luck. I wouldnt pay those prices unless my rifle was out of service because of one of those parts.

My theory.................... At some point each FNC part needed will be imported or made in the US. The demand will at some time be so high that a person of means to make or import wont be able to pass on the possible profit.

Im willing to wait till then.

If those parts sell at those prices, I may have to start unloading FNC parts (NOS)!!! ;)

Wow, steep prices. I'd rather buy a complete rifle than spend close to $2k on a bolt and carrier.

I looked into having FNC parts laser scanned and made with CNC.

To totally farm out all the work I think the cost came out to $350 each for a stripped lower if I had a batch of 50 made.

So that gives you an idea.

it's definitely "do-able" to make just about any part for the FNC for a reasonable amount.

there are small shops turning out specialty competition AR bolts and that kind of thing, so it's not like making a FNC bolt is a job for NASA

the FNC parts are just old-school machine shop type stuff, it would be fairly easy to make the parts with CNC

it's actually kind of a mystery why it hasn't happened yet, there are hobby type gun makers turning out complex parts for all kinds of guns, like AR15 lowers and 1911 frames

I spoke with some shops a few months ago. The universal message seemed to be "we're running 24/7 just trying to keep up with the business we have right now. We don't have any time to take on a new product."

I was hoping to find a shop that was already making bolts and other gun parts, a shop that already understood what it takes to make these things well. Maybe when the gun hysteria dies down we can get someone on board.

Try Barnes Precision in North Carolina. Andy Barnes makes AR15s and parts and may be able to accommodate this type of project.

FNC Parts

I would be willing to bet we could get at least fifty to a hundred FNC owners to pit some cash up front to get these parts made. I'd be one foe them.

There was a complete FNS in the non NFA section for 3400.00 I passed on.

Only due to the fact that I had to make a choice. FNC semi + NFA sear + machine work to get said sear in gun.
Came out to about 9600.00 + shipping.

So I went with another NIB 9mm SMG a MK760 No it's not a rifle cal. but it is about 6K cheaper.

That and the onl thing being made for the FNC seems to be barrels fron Green Mountain.

@ least there is SaMachine for the S&W and MK guns. slow but there.

I still want a FNC but like the MK760 I wanted I'll keep looking for the right deal.
took two years to find that MK. been looking for a FNC even longer.

Thanks for all the feedback. I sold the bolt / bolt carrier private party after the auction ended. I thought I mention that since I received a number of messages. I am going to re-list the gas cylinder for a $50 start price tonight if anyone needs one. And if anyone finds a ship to make a bolt, I am certainly in for one. Finally, I might be listing a receiver for sale in the next few weeks.
