I think I want to SBR the semi auto Sten I built awhile back. It was made off of Indianapolis Ordnance parts including the 80% receiver and bolt. I never planned to sell it so I did not engrave anything on it whatsoever. My question is, what exactly should I engrave on it so I can fill out my form 1? I know it needs a make/model/serial/caliber, but I know on the efile form 1 if your make/model is not in their list they have to "research" it. I guess if I put whatever I want down on the receiver I wonder what research they can or will do?

Should I just engrave and register it as a Sten MKIII and come up with a serial number?

Any insight is appreciated.

EDIT: I overlooked the "FMI" manufacturer code I would use in this case. Then I would just use "Sten MKIII" as that already exists in the drop down menu at that point.

You can name it whatever you want, because you are the manufacturer. Just whatever you name it would need to be engraved on it. As you (or your trust are the manufacturer you can also choose whatever serial number you want as well.

As easy as it can be then.
