Saving the crown princess her personal FNC

Recently the press released pics of our Belgian crown princess Elisabeth. She followed cours in the Royal Military Academy on a voluntary way.

just google "kroonprinses Elisabeth" or "Belgian crown princess" and you see several pics of her. Actualy we have king Filip (ex paratrooper and pilot). The first born child is Elisabeth so, in the future we will have queen, just like England.

Anyway, she finished the RMA and i took initiative to save her personal FNC. All FNC's will be replaced by the SCAR L soon so they will end up in a depot, or get shredded or in Ukraïne...

Also, for those who like details, check the special double eye they made on the M3 para stock. I need to mention, for the press pictures they gave her an other FNC as she was using the minimi the day the press came in. So, she swapped temporary the minimi for an FNC, as was told to me.
And yes, the gun is not yet cleaned. They just came back from the forrest when i got my hands on it.

In a joint effort the warheritage institute (royal army museum Brussels) will do a request to obtain the FNC serial 072450 (ABL21450). There is a Royal display in the museum with several Kings personal weapons. Somehow nobody tried to save the previous three kings there service rifles. Pitty...
I hope my initiative will get it on display one day. I keep you informed.

That's obscene. As bad as I would like to have a spare bolt or two, the thought of this makes me sick to my stomach. The rest of your post is cool though!

Most obsolete army weapons will end up in the shredder. Belgium gives m to Ukraine. No way they sell weapons or parts to civilians. All parts are counter. So the armorer needs to turn in a broken part if he needs a New part.... This is no source.

In the US Military, it depends on the part and0or circumstance. Most of the time, it takes a bit of paperwork declaring that the part was lost, and it is replaced (sometimes the servicemember is required to pay for it, if lost due to negligence,etc).

Belgian FNCs not in active service are in the Ukraine now. I have to guess they are in an ISO container somewhere, because it makes no sense for the Ukraine to issue a 5.56 weapon in a 5.45 war.

But Belgium should be proud of her. Did she get the opportunity to become Airborne qualified?

She is doing officerschool. Not yet other specialised trainings. One step in a time.

The King has both para wings and pilot wings.

Thanks. She’s inspired me to take my Howco import to the range this week. The FNC is just so nice to shoot.

Now the Belgium military just needs to buy Chinook helicopters like the Dutch and Germany

They aren’t in combat. Sending FNCs to the Ukraine is for a photo op. The actual troops on both sides are using AK74 and AK100 in the same 5.45 caliber. The 7.62 AKs given to grandma is another photo op.

That war is fought with 5.45 and PKMs. And RPGs, etc. There is probably a storage conex of FNC rusting away. At least the STG44 crate that went to Syria didn’t rust.

As for frontline use. No clue, i just saw pics. 5000 fnc in a 44.00.000 people population... it is like a fg 42 in the german army ; )
