Who seems to have the best Galil SAR parts kit for sale right now? Also, anyone know where I can find a SAR gas block other than in a parts kit?

Bowman Arms has some nice looking SAR kits on Gunbroker at the moment. Last auction closed at $310 I believe.

Bowman kits are great if you love nice front stubs.

problem with bowman kits are they have allot of beaten and worn parts. Worst being the receiver side stock knuckle. Literally hammered out :pound

Havent seen one yet not beaten to a pulp.

Outside of the prospect of reconditioning parts and that receiver side knuckle its a deal.

the rest of the demil parts are crap......Almost forgot you may indeed need to get a new mag catch spring as the metal got really hot from torching.....

Near all of them are bayo lug on Gas Block if not all, and blocks are on the barrels stubs really tight. Did I say really tight?

I meant super tight.

Also good luck salvaging the barrel stub in the front demil. You will ruin tools take it out. Save yourself some heartache, cut and core the center then remove.

Numrich kits are slightly better but not beaten. Front stubs are not "Front stubs" but 3/4 inch slab of roasted metal. Outside of that the rest of the demil isnt too bad.

Its a pot shot if you get a older short journal gas block, with or without a seperate bayo lug on barrel.

I have one time gotten a older curved stock on a SAR.

And 1 last thing, there is no guarantee you will get night sights from numrich or bowman. it varies greatly.

The pricing with Bowman is much better and the stub is excellent.

Numich Parts will be over all better (Chances are at least) and rear demil parts will be far better than bowman. Chances of older or unique parts will be better.

Both have their qualities, thats my experience.
