Depends what's on the form. If it says MAC and looks like that, no go. If it says "Joe Bob's Garage" should be ok. Guessing it says Military Armament corporation and it is indeed an issue.That looks illegal to sell imho. Looks like the Orginal serial number was “Obliterated”, then someone remarked it. Thats a NO-NO!!!!
Good theory. I wonder how it would have been recovered and verified in such a case. I don't think you could truly verify without having also stamped the upper secretly or inside the magwell (that's a good idea if it were possible), but if you could prove it was the gun, I wonder if ATF would approve this.It's possible that it was stolen and recovered. The serial was fudged by thieves, and it was re-stamped.

That’s a MAC Powder Springs era formatted serial and the upper is Powder Springs as well.It couldn't have been a semi converted before 1986?
