If someone wants to champion in a group buy of 100 bolts then I could get the price down to somewhere between $500-$700 each.

If someone wants to champion a group buy of 500 units it would be even less.

Initial estimates are $1,200 each but that could go up or down. The biggest factor as of today is the production quantity. If there’s a lot of participation then the price lower however, if I only make a dozen units then the price would of course be higher.

I’ve sold over 100 FNC bolts but I don’t expect near that same response to these which is crazy to me because there’s a lot more S&W76 / MK760 SMGs out there and the S&W76 / MK760 failure rate is higher. Despite folklore, the FNC bolt is robust as long as shooters use factory loads.
The fact that your initial estimate is in line with Richard's initial estimate in 2020 is, at least to me, impressive when you factor in inflation and supply issues.

...

Boring story time...
In 2016, I bought a one-ounce gold coin as a birthday present for myself in celebration of turning 30. All in, I paid $1,320.37 for it. Today, I couldn't buy that coin for anything less than $4,300. If I had known then what I know now, I'd have bought four or five of them.

...

I hope this 76/760 bolt project comes to fruition. For one thing, I think there is (or will be) a market for them. For another, my Mk760 bolt is starting to look like something made in a Pakistan mountain pass and it would be nice to have a spare. However, I don't want this project to take place if it means a loss to NavGunner.

If this project turns out to be a go, I'm in for at least one 76/760 bolt, (almost) regardless of price.

Nice thing with a spare bolt is it will only add value to your 76/760 when you decide to sell it while giving yourself lots of time to shoot it before hand with less worry. :)

$1200 is about right since finding a spare bolt is like hen's teeth and navgunner's work is top notch.

Will you be making a list of committed buyers, taking deposits or a pre-purchase option? In other words how will you know how many to manufacture?
I go back and forth on that. I hope to have that figured out in a week or two. What I do know is that if someone here on UT, Sturm or an existing customer has expressed a genuine interest then they will get priority over everyone else. I’m definitely not going to stock pile all these, but I do plan to make enough to have a just a few leftovers for my website.

Aside: I partnered with John Norrell to make some anti-bounce FA 10/22 bolts for his registered sears/packs and I’ve had an overwhelming amount of interest in those. It’s way less involved for me to make a 10/22 bolt and very a few people express concern about the sales price on them too.

Considering the rarity, probability of failure, and the engineering/manufacturing costs that goes into making a 76 bolt I personally think that they’re a bargain at $1,200.

Austin, there are three guys in our group with SW76s, I bet they would all buy one.
If you happen to make a pre order list, I will be on it. Just bought your trigger bar and sear, and extractor and something else.
Thanks

Any word on the bolts? Appreciate you taking the time to take care of the needs of the community.

The 76/760 bolts are getting closer to being production ready but my attention was briefly pulled away when I received an opportunity to work with John Norrell on his FA 10/22 bolts. Yesterday was the first day in a few weeks that I was able to focus on the manufacturing tooling/gauges for the Smith & Wesson bolt.
