Extractor, Recoil Spring Guide, Sear, Trigger Bar, Bolt...

After languishing for years, the 76 platform is officially great again.

Mr. Meek (NavGunner) deserves a chapter in the S&W 76 book, Second Edition (if/when the author decides to issue another edition). 🍻

I have been wanting to get a new bolt for almost 20 years! I was on Scott Andrey's list at one time but that never happened. I passed on Richards offering due sticker shock but when I warmed up to it he was gone. I will not miss out on this chance.
Good idea.

I recall seeing four bolts available for sale in in the time I’ve been searching.

No. 1 (S&W 76, good condition) hammer price $5k.

No. 2 (S&W 76, good condition) got snapped up right away.

No. 3 (unknown bolt and quality) sold for $1.9k

No. 4 (MK 760, rough condition) hammer price $2.7k

How much was Richard Hoffman asking for his? Is there anybody here that bought one?
I believe Richard estimated it would be between $1.0k on the low side and $1.2k on the high side, which tracks with what The Dude says.

IMO, a new bolt is easily going to add $1000 worth of value to the 76/760 platform.

That’s interesting to hear because that’s just a little lower than I factored, but I won’t know exact pricing until I figure out how many we’re gonna make along with other critical details. I’m pretty close so hopefully that information will come relatively fast.

Did Richard ever end up making bolts for production? Does anyone have a bolt of his that they can speak to its functionality?

As far as I know, Richard never got the project out of the planning phase.

Covid-19 ramped up, he got sick, his wife died, and then he died a short while later (requiescat in pace).

As a (sobering) side note, $1200 in 2020 is almost $1500 in 2025.

I'd be interested but in reading the talk about price, it might very well be more than I'd pay. Side note. I'm very impressed with Navgunners other parts. Whatever the price is, I'm sure these will be very good quality.

Initial estimates are $1,200 each but that could go up or down. The biggest factor as of today is the production quantity. If there’s a lot of participation then the price lower however, if I only make a dozen units then the price would of course be higher.

I’ve sold over 100 FNC bolts but I don’t expect near that same response to these which is crazy to me because there’s a lot more S&W76 / MK760 SMGs out there and the S&W76 / MK760 failure rate is higher. Despite folklore, the FNC bolt is robust as long as shooters use factory loads.

I don’t have a dog in this anymore (sold mine) but I think anything over $1k is to much.
Hopefully youll have a lot of interest and can make more to reduce the cost.
