RPB Mac11A1 trip not working?

Just received the gun and first time firing it it would not shoot singles when selected to Semi. It ran full auto when in either selection. After reviewing Mac-11info.com i realized my trip was missing in the gun. Fortunately i purchased a parts kit while waiting for my form 4 to clear. After installing the trip and testing at the range the gun would now shoot singles in semi mode but would only shoot bursts in FA mode. Any ideas what the problem is? Unfortunately Lage Manufacturing is out of their "improved trip's" at the moment. And yes i would like to have a working selector as apposed to FA only.

My experience with similar M11-380, .380 ammo, faulty full auto operation was magazine related issues, not the trip.

MHO, YMMV, etc.

We have a shorter version of our new trip that should solve that problem. It is .032” shorter which allows it to drop lower so the bolt does not contact it in Full Auto mode causing burst fire. It is not on the website, but you can call or e-mail to order. They are in stock.

90%+ issues with a MAC not shooting FA reliably can be traced to a weak trigger/disconnect spring. Not saying that's your issue but it's an easy and cheap try.

Ive been meaning to give an update on my issue. So i did purchase and install Richards "short trip". Unfortunately that did not solve my problem. It was worth a try and im grateful that Richard made the suggestion either way. My next step was to replace all the other internal small parts i have on hand. I think i have all if not most as the gun came with a parts kit from the original seller. I will report back after i do that. I appreciate your feedback Jack.

As I noted in a post above, I had to tweak some mags; but I had forgotten till I read this post, I also replaced the trigger/disconnector spring to get reliable operation.
Best of luck.
MHO, YMMV, etc.

It’s possible that the trip needs to be fitted to the gun. I have discovered that the upper receiver trunnion height can vary slightly from gun to gun and this can cause the trip to perform unreliably without fitting it to the gun with a little bit of filing on the “hump” that contacts the bolt.
