Ringing three prong mount

I got a 3 prong mount for an old AAC M4-2000 can and the thing rings like a tuning fork every round fired, unsuppressed.

I could only fire it suppressed, but not sure I wanna limit myself.

Any solutions?


Cut the prongs by 1/4" and change the harmonics? Drill a small hole in each prong? Ideas welcome.

You can have your old AAC can threaded at the base to the SilencerCo spec thread pitch. This allows mounting SilencerCo, Dead Air, etc mounts on your current can. The older AAC mounts can then be sold for a surprisingly large amount!

Reading that thread looks like it's the fact that they are identical that makes them resonate. I'd leave one alone, put a long hole through the end of one, and half as far on another.
