Well, They're basically the barbie doll of smg's- dress it up any way you want.


shop around on GB , parts are sometimes very cheap .

i believe i could have gotten a thompson 1928 kit for mine...but since i own one and also it would hack up the tube i decided against it....

im looking for the longer version of the gun...there's one on GB for sale...i can get the longer shroud, but i need the longer part under the shroud...its part of the mag well...id love to have a bench gun version w/ a bipod...

its a frankingun...and it will always be....but its one of the nicest running guns ive tried...maybe 2nd only to a Sterling...if they would have had a unique design instead of using existing parts to make it i think it would be highly desirable....function wise its spectacular....its all about the non original look that turns people off.....with $9,000 into it now im still satisfied with my purchase in the end....$8,550 would have been nicer, but there's worse things in this world and life is short. in 12 months im going to enjoy the hell out of this gun

I've got a question.... what is the difference between that BRP barrel and a Suomi barrel?
My BRP Suomi (2008 gun) uses an unmodified suomi barrel, my newer 2014 uses a modified barrel, only the chamber is modified though

Ive got one of Brian's new barrels on the gun but the spare original barrel is a m31 barrel but something has been done to it. I can't just swap a factory barrel on it. I can't remember what he said he did. Turn something down maybe we're the words used. You'd have to ask Brian

I know its not a direct drop in

The extractor placement is at the 1 o'clock position on the BRP barrels and 3 o'clock on the Suomi barrels. I removed some material from the Suomi barrels and made them work but it left a bigger bulge in the brass.

I also remember Brian telling me to be careful with Suomi barrels as he found many surplus barrels with tighter bores.

I assume your talking about the newer BRP barrels/guns. The older suomis, even the BRP manual says you can use surplus Suomi barrels.

The spare he gave me looks like he ground a sort of feed ramp into it. I just tossed it in a box as I'd rather have a new threaded barrrel. If I sell I'd toss the correct one on. Plus why wear out a correct barrel

Nothing new from Spiwak. He's been doing crap like that since the mid-90's. When nfa took off on the web around 2000 he had a lot of defenders ,not so many around now. I personally saw a so called new in box Mac-10 that was well used in 1995. He refused to take it back or pay for a refinish.

I got a Sten from him recently.
Beautiful gun but it fired singles on FA and bursts on SA.

That took some head scratching.

I'm sure the experience would have upset others but as Stens go, this is the best looking one I have ever seen and the price was fantastic.

i find most just accept this stuff...pm a few people and bitch, but let him get away with it

link to the video showing part of the function problem--safety/selector just flops back and forth..when the bolt is pulled back the sear spring falls out of place which jams the sear in front of the bolt. a $5 part is missing....at the very end of the video look at the rust on the part connected to the stock...this part was not able to be refinished as its pressed into the stock....i have not gone to see the gun yet, but assume this will have to be addressed later (costing more $$)

Is this the reason there is a gun Like that on his website that has said sale pending forever?

How does one even hack a barrel that bad? That's pretty rough. Even if he didn't have the gun after seeing that he should be calling whoever he bought/brokered it and doing the same thing you are. I definitely would not be a happy camper.

the gun was played with..thats how....the only way for the part to be missing in the trigger assembly was for someone to dissemble it and the part flew out...maybe someone replaced the barrel w/ a junk one and saved the good one?...all these things were obvious to me in seconds....it calls into question Mr. Spiwaks ability to hold a gun and inspect it...and still call it BRAND NEW

i could see the flaws instantly....i pulled the bolt back and touched the selector...i knew it was broke in seconds....yet Mr. Spiwak couldnt...

it calls into question pictures on his website and his descriptions...can you trust anything he says?

its beyond his lack of wanting to make a bad situation right....im sure if he had paid to make it right he still would have made money on the gun...he doesnt want to give up any of his profit and fights me over a few hundred....or at one point $5 just for the repair part....he at no point ever agreed to make my gun functional....i had to ask for the $5 for the part!!! BRP was nice enough to do the repair for FREE....yet he calls their prices out of line...

ive got the stock refinished now...it doesnt match the front grip as they are different types of wood and i cant make a blonde stock dark brown, but they are close....im waiting on a rail from BRP to mount my red dot and to finish the gun up and reshoot it....ill post a pic of my completed frankengun maybe next week....

I fixed FA by taking a few thou off the top of the disconnector so it wouldn't trip.
I've not fixed the SA issue yet so thanks for the advice.
(still having way too much fun on FA with the one Lanchester mag I found)

The part was only a few bucks and not worth the trouble.
I currently have much more mag-ravating issues unrelated to the original purchase.

I guess my point is that I got it at least $500 cheaper than anywhere else so I'm not bitching about a $20 part.
It was, however, never test fired, function checked or even cleaned.
(now it sleeps in a custom Pelikan case, clean & lubricated in the finest oil)

I have 2 friends that both purchased MG's from him, one about 2 years ago and another about 5 years ago.
Both had a good experience and received the guns as advertised.
