Does anyone know where I can get some raised sights installed on a 1911 style pistol? I'd prefer not to deal with shipping a pistol out of state so unless the shop is in Florida, I'd prefer to send out just the slide if possible.

Order some from brownells. You just need to know what your slide is cut for. Is the front site staked or dovetailed?

Front is not dovetailed. I don't see any stakes either, though I have to take a better look. This is a mind 90's Llama so it's possible the front sight is milled right into the slide. I'd do the work myself if I could (I have done plenty of my own gunsmithing) but I'd really like someone to cut a dovetail into the front for which I do not have any tools, or experience.

Field strip the slide and look at the sight from the underside. You should see a milled recess with the rectangular post of the sight expanded into it. This is the staked style like the original 1911.

Do you know anyone with a mill? All they need is the dovetail cutter that matches your sight. Lots of old retired machinists around with a few machines in their garage.

Cutting sight dovetails is a basic gunsmith job, a local one is likely quicker, many who take on mail in jobs have a waiting list.
