Finally bit the bullet and got the Zmag adapter. Was wondering, does this work with anything beside the Zmags? I've got several other mags sitting around here.

This may be a dumb question, but how tough do you think it would be to make an adapter for the PS/31 that worked with STEN mags? I was looking at that thing and I was starting to think about that.

There are old post of people welding and glueing tabs to the back of sten mags for the lage max 31. 2016ish or earlier I think

Interesting. I was thinking the other way. If an adapter could be made that's just for sten magazines, that way no modifying the existing magazines

Not enough room in the magwell for a sleeve for the Sten mags unless it was made from aluminum foil.

I'm sure it could be done. After playing with Sten mags and seeing the incredible amount of dimensional variation, they made it close to the top of my undesirable mags list. I keep a Max31 converted one in my collection just to remind me how much I'm unimpressed.

I'm super excited about Richards new VERSA 12 uppers because I can use 33 round Glock mags. I have 20 in a box. Yesterday I was looking for them and I picked up the storage box and thought it was empty. They are that light.

My thought was a complete remake of the adapter that allows the 31 to take magazines.... Once the adapter gets here I'll start taking measurements and see if it's a possibility

You’re as stubborn as me!!! Believe me when I say there is a zero chance a mag adapter can be made for Sten mags that can be made to work in a 31 series! You have to literally crush the front and back of a sten mag to work in a 31 as it is. The 31 magwell opening is 1.495-1.502. A Sten mag is 1.499-1.505. Imho. YMMV

Ohhh I see I didn't realize that--i should have taken my digital caliper to it and I would have known. Going to look at that versa12 upper.

I bought a ton of 33rd RWB cheap ones when they were on sale for $9 a few years ago and didn't even know why. Turns out it was clairvoyance.

Have you tried the RWB G17 33 round mags? The RWB G21 mags and 100 round AR15 drums were total garbage.

I have not tried them, I got 3 oem ones and bought those 40 or so to just have for trading fodder, but when I get my lage I'll try em and see. They are still around. I read up a few years ago on which glock mags were good and I think it was glock and magpul (yep, magpul), but the magpul are only 27rds so there's that. 27 rounds is a disadvantage in a match imho, but not a big deal if you just like shooting at the range. IIRC ETS have issues but look real cool.

I have a variety of glock mags and if Mr. Lage wants me to test them all out I gladly volunteer as tribute, but he's probably already done this.

In summary though, since you can get 33rd oem glock mags for $27.07 most say don't mess with aftermarket

Wow those look pricey....$85.99. From the look of things there's other options out there for less. Do the Glock mags function that much better? I'm not too keen about dropping almost 14C on an upper and then having to buy more magazines. Plus, I would prefer to not have to get a wholly new magazine when I can use the Zmags with the max31 and an adapter.

Guajo found a good deal on Glock mags. @ $28 a mag, I may want to buy more.

ZMGAS are $35 when bought in a 12 pack. 50 round ZMAGS are $58 each + shipping

I have 2- 50rd Zmags ( 1 never used and 1 tested once) that I would trade for that 3 pack of new 33 round Glock mags from Brownells if anyone is interested.

3-pack 33 rd Glock mags to my door= $98.42
2-pack 50 round ZMAGS to my door = $115.90

I'm going to post this offer in the classified as well.

All over the place!
I’ve been using the ETS 30 and 40 round Glock mags in PCC matches for the past year. Even dropping them loaded hasn’t been a problem. It’s my understanding their first gen were problematic, but these work fine. The 40 rounders were recently on sale from Mag Warehouse. I have a Freedom Ordnance FX-9 and I’ve found that the RWB Glock mags won’t work the bolt hold open and the 2nd Amend mags won’t lock in correctly, at least in my gun. KCI mags have been good.

I must have had some first gen ETS mags then, because I’ve had nothing but trouble with the 40 rounders. Two loaded ones burst through and broke the feed lips, and I called it quits with them after the second happened.

I’ve had good experiences with KCI mags, but nothing beats the factory ones, especially how relatively cheap they are.
