I bought a Lage Upper with the Slowfire Bolt from Lage Mfg and it looks like this:

The spring on the Op. Rod sprung off as I opened the packaging.
If you look at the end of the Op. Rod it appears it wasn't bent at the split to retain the spring.
Is it supposed to be flattened (for lack of a better word) to retain the spring?
This makes it very difficult to get the Upper on.

What should I do?
Return to Lage?
Fix myself, flatten (I am not real handy)?
Or is this just the way it's supposed to be?

It appears the bolt has been used. Is Richard selling used products, or am I missing something?

No, he isn't.
I did fire it after I got it in there.

It works, just doesn't hold together.
It's a pain to try and get together like this.
I can make it work, but it just doesn't seem correct.

I would never attempt to fix a Lage product even if I thought I could...it's just not worth it when you can send it in, have it fixed for free, and get it back in a week. And you know the repair was done right.
