Question about loading Suomi uzi drum

When I load the Suomi uzi drum, do I release the spring and let the feed tower fill up and then back of the spring a click or so and add more rounds to fully load the drum or do you just fill up the drum and fill the tower when you release the spring ( without adding extra rounds)?

I’ve always released the spring slowly and then backed off and added rounds until completely full. Doesn’t take long to top it off.

Thank you. This is what I did. I did add an extra full turn of pretension to the drum before loading.
