Anybody test drive these .45 mags. It would be nice to be able to use my .45 full auto bolt and barrel without having to use the heavy GG lower & GG mags.
I ordered some; however, I haven't received them yet. As soon as I do I will be test driving them in 40 and 45 and let you know.
It is a little surprising that Promag did not offer a Uzitalk special.
When did these come up on their website? They couldn't have been up very long. It might be that the website has been updated before production has started. It is a little strange, considering the input UZItalk had with the Promag 10 round magazines. I at least expected an announcement from Promag about their availability on UZItalk.
If it wouldn't be for the 20 rounders being offered at all, I would have thought Promag forgot about us!
Well, I know here and some other places I said I would be reviewing these magazines in my FA 45 using both 45 ACP and 40 S&W. In case it was missed in another thread I will be unable to review these in the near future. I ordered them on Nov. 2. On Novemeber 4th I received a shipping notice, however, later that day I received an e-mail to call them. After I called them they said my CC had been rejected. After checking a few things with the bank, the long and short was they where now attempting to charge it for $15 more than the pre-auth had been.
When I questioned that I was told that was for shipping. I stated that the order sheet on their web page only let me choose "free shipping" I was then told this was an error on the web page and I should try ordering again in a few days when I could be charged for shipping. I said OK. Several hours later I called to cancel my order.
After I thought about, it really disturbed me that they where attempting to charge more to my credit than the order total on my order and what was authorized.
Had they called me first or e-mailed me first and said "Hey, the web page has an error, the new total is $15 more, do you still want them?" I would have said yes, no problem. If it was my company, I would have said, "Hey there was an error, but if you still want them we will split the difference with you for this one order that you already placed - $7.50" and dropped them in a flat rate envelope.
At the end of the day I have over 2 dozen IMI 45 and 41 AE magazines, so I did not need these, so I cancelled my order. I just found it very distrubing that they where attempting to charge my CC more than I had authorized. I had ordered 3 magazines and by adding $15, they where adding about 12% to my order without any consent or knowledge on my part.
So, regrettably, no review will be coming from me, but I do hope these are a good product and some other source will stock so ya'll can tell me they are wonderful and I can try to aquire some for the price I authorize.
Dan
Terrible review. You didn't even get any in hand.
Yeah...It turned into a review of company policy, sorry. I do hope to order some from another vendor when the stock them and I can be charged the same amount on the invoice...
Not to break your balls or anything, but what you described sounds like one of the usual annoyances that crop up.
It doesn't seem like a deal breaker to me.
that would have burned me too. i think you did the right thing. It wouldn't have been had they just called or emailed and said there was error on the web page, your total should have been xyz, do you still want the order. The deal breaker was when "Free Shipping" on the web page turned into "We are just giong to add $15 to your credit card for shipping anyway, because that was a mistake and not tell you about"
Just went it tried again, I can still only get "free shipping" as a choice....
