Glad to see you responding to this thread Darrel. Communication issues always breed paranoia but with large sums of money on the line who wouldn't be.

I agree. In no way did i intend to blame Gunwares, its my fault. Its been a hellava four months!

As i PM'ed him, in the end he will have a warm SMG that is in fantastic shape and all will be okay with the world. But as of now he has neither the $5000 not the gun so i understand his "anxiety"! Of all the deals i have done on the net this is really the first one that i really had issues with!

I do not know Darrell Johnson on a personal basis, but from our brief private chats here I wouldn't hesitate to do business with him if he had something I was interested in. I understand your transaction has been anything but smooth, but he's dealing with some heavy duty issues that hopefully none of us will ever be forced to experience.

I didn't make any excuses for him on the way this transaction progressed but I'm sure you will get your gun.

Hey GunWares, what's the story? After all of the fireworks last week over this deal I expected to hear an end to the story. Maybe I just missed it. Did you get the gun as promised or not? Have you seen it?

I dropped a couple of e-mails asking if the gun arrived in good condition, and no response. Hope he is okay. Would hate to think he wasn't returning e-mails in "a timely manner".

:D

The gun did indeed arrive and looks fine. That's according to my dealer, I haven't seen it yet -- he's 80 miles away.

Darrell, if you PM'ed me at the FalFiles I would not have seen them. Haven't been there in about a week.

Thanks again to all concerned and for all the advice.

Well, I was waiting to get my Form 4s signed by the local sheriff before making the trip. His office called this a.m. and the papers are ready to go. So, tomorrow I stop by the sheriff's office on the way to my dealer, and will see the gun then.

I dunno about youse guys, but I hate driving as much as I love my guns. :D

I have a Land Rover and thus I enjoy being in my vehicle almost as much as shooting.

My brother also has an RX-8 and loves it. I always tell him that I'll race any day - but I ge to pick the race track.

Well, as long as we're talking cars, I used to enjoy driving... back when I drove an oxford green BMW 740i with tan leather interior and every frickin' option BMW offered for a car. It had heated seats, heated steering wheel, moonroof, 400 watt 14 speaker stereo, halogen headlights and fog lights, and more knobs, switches and lights than I could figure out the meaning of. It had a 4.4L V8, about 280 hp as I recall. A little underpowered, but not bad for a luxury sedan.

Now, of course, I drive an oxford green Subaru Legacy stationwagon, and hate driving. :D Here's a pic of my former baby:

I'll be those sand colored UZI grips (like John Matrix just posted) would have matched beautifully.

As long as we're off the subject...

My much-beloved, much-breathed-on machine-gun transporter: '97 SS, one of exactly 185 factory six-speed T-Tops in Sebring Silver. Dynos now at 350-360 HP -- sufficient torque to scare the daylights outa me whenever I need an adrenaline fix.

Well, I drove my Subaru stationwagon to my dealer today, dropped off my paperwork, and took a gander at my new FA Uzi. Looks pretty good, thanks Darrell. I wonder how long before I can pick it up... January?

I was chatting with my dealer about Uzis. He's a gunsmith and ex LE, been in the business a long time. He was one of the guys that protected Ronald Regan when he was governor of California. Back then he used an Uzi. I asked if it was a mini, he said no: a fullsize with the barrel cut down so it would fit in a briefcase.

Just curious... is there any reason why this could not be done to John Q. Citizen's transferrable Uzi if he wanted?
