Ported barrel?

Anyone know about the ported barrel on the Uzi Talk forum logo above? My old eyes may deceive me, bt it looks like the cuts are vented forward which would increase recoil a bit, no?

It's vented correctly...

The Micro & Mini UZI have the same cuts. The cuts are deeper on the right/ejection port side... than the left! This enables the smg to tuck in... on a diagonal, low & to the left on full-auto. This enables better operator control as the resultant blast vectors the weapon's forend securely into the left hand.
