What I looked at just now included the premiums, but not the 5.5% state sales tax for Maine.
When I read the terms and conditions it sounds like that was applied on all transactions.

AND, why was the Japanese Army Type 92 so interesting that it sold for over $45K?

I just watched an auction live, and I believe what I am seeing is the hammer price. I believe they charge around 20% premium depending on the payment method. Not sure if that includes the sales tax or not.

If I am correct, some of what I thought was decent deals at a glance turn out to be not so good deals.

The listed sold prices include the 22% premium
eg lot 1001 shows 48800. Premium is 22%. It hammered at 40k

They collect any state tax due, which varies state by state (anywhere from 0% to ???%}

Yeah, +1 on the woodpecker price - no idea why the bidding was crazy on that item…
