I picked up a Norinco 320 at a Dallas gun show about 10-12 years ago......it was remarkably reliable and accurate......the exterior finish was a tad rough though........

Never heard of a Chineese Uzi, how rare are they?

Not that rare. About the same number imported as number of semi-auto group industries receivers. They are fairly reliable. Top covers can sometimes be too tight and need adjustment or replacement. The big drawback is the thumbhole stock. It can't be replaced unless you replace enough parts so it qualifies as a U. S. made gun.

These were available right before the clinton gun ban...when SKS's were $75 and MAK-90's were $125-150----i think i bought a case of steel core 7.62x39 for $100

every gun show had multiple Norinco Uzi's......im sure there is a thousand or 2 out there...all the ones i saw had a wood stock

Norinco was just a cheap gun maker...clinton i believe banned all their stuff from further import....i think those uzi's were $200 or so back then....they looked too goofy with the wood stock to interest me....im sure those stocks are long gone and now they look like normal UZI's

since the assault weapon ban is over are you sure he needs to worry about US made parts anymore? wasnt that part of the ban back then?

Good for you. It seems people are always looking to find fault with them.
Bashing them with improperly extrapolated statistical data has become a popular pastime of late.

As has been noted, the finish is a little rough, but as shooters the Chinuzis are generally as good or better than a Vector semi auto.

922r compliance still applies and enough US made parts must be swapped out before you can legally ditch the butt hole stock and install a folding stock. http://922r.com/

The U.S. assault weapons ban is over, but that has nothing to do with this gun since it's an import. The 1989 ban on the import of non-sporting rifles is still in effect.

Actually it was both. Bush signed the non-sporting rifle import ban in 1989. When Norinco started to supply sporter versions of their military-style rifles (including the UZI), Clinton banned those.

I owned a post ban Vector before they seem to have issues and a Norinco 320. I agree the finish and metal work on the 320 were not the cleanest but like all the Norinco Kalashnikov's I had it was well built and worked. I have been thinking of picking up another to SBR and possibly suppress. I have been watching them on GB and they have gone from $471-$650. A LNIB with all the goods and two mags went for $600 @ no reserve. There are several listed for more $ but have not sold.

Norinco is basically a Company owned by the Chinese Gov. They make much more than guns. Just Like Daewoo and Korea. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norinco

I have owned a couple Norinco guns, including the Uzi, never had a problem with any of them.
