Hi all,

I was basically looking for some inspiration and ideas on what different options I have that feature UZI mag pouches and are ideally available in black to build a carry system around. At the moment, I have standard issue Bundeswehr/Flecktarn UZI mag pouches that hold three mags each. However, I'm not necessarily looking to build my system around the standard Bundeswehr webbing. There isn't even anything wrong with that system, but I think I really just want to explore what other options I have and ideally be more flexible with the color and get black instead of Flecktarn. Even just the belt should be sufficient, but things that I would want to fit onto it and that would have to be featured in the system are at least one bigger (or several smaller) UZI mag pouches, some tool/knife pouch, some kind of multi-purpose pouch/buttpack and probably a sidearm holster. I understand that I'm probably looking at something other than any international army standard issue equipment, which is fine. I'm not looking for any kind of historical accuracy here - just a system that works for me. So, can anybody recommend a good modular system that includes mag pouches suitable for the UZI? I could then try to piece my entire belt together from that. If it's a manufacturer that's widely available in Europe/Germany, that would be a big plus as well. Thanks in advance!

Cheers!

Nuts, I kind of speed read the above but think you are looking for a chest rig outfit? Lots of custom made ones out there, in America that is, I have a Eagle Industries out of St. Louis Mo. that holds a pistol on my left side, 3 mag pouches that hold 9 Uzi mags on the right side, then other pouches for pistol mags or a knife or whatever. They will custom make it for you which is nice. Got it in 2005 before I went to Iraq as a private contractor, several companies make a standard system for around $50. Mine was custom and ran around $115 if I remember right but set up for me specifically.

I don't think I'm looking for a full blown chest rig. I think the typical setup there might be "too much". As I said, I think I could be fitting all of my stuff on a belt alone. I'm just looking for a suitable platform to build on that would have everything I need, especially the mag pouch suitable for UZI (as every platform is obviously gonna have some general purpose pouches) and comes in black.

Well, if it comes down to it, I'm just gonna bite the bullet and go with the German army webbing that my mag pouches are supposed to be attached to. It's not my ideal color, but it's obviously widely available here and will cost me very little. $50 to $100 is a really good price for a custom job, though. Doubt I can get that here.

P.S.: What about tue US Army "LC2" webbing? I stumbled across that last night. Does that feature some mag pouch that would work for the UZI and is there a black version of it?

If color is a big issue. I have read of guys using Rit (a brand of clothing dye here in the US) to achieve the final color they were looking for. They have used it on Cordura with success. On cotton webbing, one would think it would be easy to achieve black.

Gotcha. Should keep that idea in mind. I'm positive it should work on the olive cotton webbing of the German carry system. I'm a little more skeptical about dying over the Flecktarn on the mag pouches, but I just had another look at them and the material certainly looks like it would pick up the coloring.

I've been looking and found a solid link for you. You have to go into the 48 pages a ways till they get into dying stuff:

If you are looking for a non standard color or maybe even a pink or light blue, I found this too:

https://www.ritstudio.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Rit_FavoriteColors_2000_FINAL.pdf

After that, I Googled "dying web gear" and came up with tons of stuff to look at..... Silly me!

I have some Tactical Tailor SMG pouches that I'm not too happy with. I heard the rumor that HSG was going to make an extended pistol Taco pouch that would work with SMG mags. Last I heard was they were still in the development stage and they were still proceeding with the project.

Here's hoping. I'm very happy with my other Tacos.
