May not need to see the eye doctor.
Pretty common for cheap red dots to flash out or bloom on high settings.

I have one of those cheap romeo wake & shake red dots on my max 10/15
And another on my VHS2
Someone was blowing them out 50 bux shipped so I bought a pair last fall.
They seem ok for cheap chinesse dots.
No bloom or astric but I also don't have any eye issues and the romeo is a cheap one, known not to bloom.

I'm a firm believer in good optics leapould & trijicon are what I spend good money on but the 50 dollar romeo was worth a try and so far so good.
I also agree with deerhurst the dounut of death or thriangle of terror are the best.
In my opinion at least.

It looks wicked nice, pricey for me at the moment but it's prob worth it.
Anything holographic is pricy. Similar in price to a comparable eotech last time I bought one.

I really like the gen 1 which can run rechargable CR123 and has a USB port for charging. The USB port at least was dropped on the second Gen.

Honestly it’s a mg. You don’t need an expensive one like an EO tech.

However I am one to think you don’t put a cheap sight on an expensive rifle. (But this isn’t a sniper rifle)
Having said that, aesthetics to me dictate a squarish sight esp w Lage upper.

The acro is expensive, holosun 509 ish, I have the DI FC1

I'd rather get a quality item than rattle a cheap one apart and have to replace it several times totalling more cost than a decent optic.

The old "Buy once, cry once" state of mind. I agree. You won't regret buying a nice optic, but you will end up regretting buying a cheap one (usually).

Yup. I've done both. Only the quality optics have survived. I'm a sucker for eotech and UH-1s.

Interestingly the cheap Romeo 5 has served me very well. I have several.

I only buy stuff with lifetime warranty these days whenever possible. Primary Arms stuff has that.

I've been using a Sig optics Romeo 4h on my lage mkii upper. it has an infinite guarantee, not too expensive and not cheep Chinese. It's reticle is similar to a Eotech. a reticle like that to me is better for a machine gun than a simple red dot.

I’ve been meaning to try one of the Sig Romeo 4 varieties. The changeable reticle seems like it could be helpful for an MG.

China’s Holosun produces most of the components for the Sig Romeo line, including the Romeo 4. They advertise “assembled in USA” but you're really buying a Chinese optic.

I’ve used several over the years, they’re nice for what they are, but the whole “assembled in USA” deceptive marketing practice is a bit off putting.

Unfortunately most everything now is in some way made in china.

Assembled in the US is not deceptive at all. It was assembled here, not fabricated. Ford, Chevy and Dodge should have that on their vehicles! It's even more deceptive that they try to hide the origin of their parts! Especially when a Nissan or Toyota is more American made.
