Off center light primer strikes

I built a semi UZI some time back and this past week got to try it out. I got light primer strikes and no ignition and after filing some on barrel nut thread area, and polish bolt face, I got two distinct center strikes on primers of primed hulls.
I think the barrel mates up tighter against trunion and tightening it as tight as possible produced reliable ignition. Wish me luck on my next outing with live ammo.

My post is simply to converse with people who are having the same issues. As my only Uzi build, this has definitely been a learning experience. I feel what I have done to fix the problems I've had might be helpful to others. That's the reason I posted.....

The word "UZI" was not in the original post.
Thus, my (valid) question.

I hope it works now; if not, there are plenty of guys here who can help.
Just don't file the trunion until you've tried a new barrel.

More problems, newest solution.

I have found that the extractor is not going up and over the rim of the cartridge. I polished it smooth and I hope this helps. Next trial , Monday evening.

I keep trying....

Extractor is going over rim good. Its clunking and not firing . If I place a cartridge into chamber, it'll go off. I'm seeing top of bolt protruding up over receiver shell at maybe a 16th inch. The top cover I had to grind underneath the back latch to get it to fasten and so the bolt would charge when first putting together. Should the bolt be above receiver shell any at all? Could this be throwing bolt off making firing pin hit side or maybe top or bottom of primer? Should bolt be flush or down inside of receiver shell? Im running out of realistic options to get to work.
