Thanks for posting those. The 32 by the witness hole is just the round count, which is present on most Uzi mags. The "35" however, is very similar to my "27" marked mag in location. My font is a bit smaller, but it is close. Not sure about the other 32 down low. So, we assume your mag is an IMI surplus/defense mag given the remains of the Hebrew writing (A reasonable assumption)?

I have a un-issued uzi parts kits with the same white paint.

It's a IMI izzy gun.

From what i know the paint is factory inspection paint.

My paint is crisp and bright on many of the parts.

Are the mag(s) that came with that kit (if any) the same as the ones I posted that have the "27" and "6" stamped on the lower spine?

The book came today, and I must say it is a wealth of information! That said, I cannot find anything in the magazine section that explains the significance of the numbers stamped on the back of the mag. The font style and spring shape identifies these mags as IMI manufacture, but nothing on the numbers. Thoughts appreciated!

I would assume that it is some type of batch number. I have a about 20 of these old parkerized IMI mags and they are just like yours with a random two digit number.

Safe bet, but I figured I'd try to dig deep just for detail's sake :)

The number of the lower back side of the IMI magazines is some sort of lot number or die stamping identification. IMI would never explain its exact use to me but I suspect it identifies the stamping dies. It doesn't have anything do to with magazine capacity.

Thanks Dave. Again, great book on the topic!

Mmmm.

The 40 round Magazines with the slit on the side are Argentine.. They were imported with a blocking bar welded to the back of the Magazine to prevent use in the Uzi's and without the bar... you could grind down the block flush with the rest of the magazine and they work just fine. The 40's are one of my favorite if you can find them.
