Hey Guys,
I want so send a bulgarian AK74 parts kit to be built into a straight wooden stock rifle. The only issue is that the only receiver that i have is for side folder. Is there any way to convert a side folder receiver to a fixed stock receiver. I just want a fixed stock rifle. Also as far as builders, is Piece of History still a great builder?
Thanks

Is there a specific reason you need to use the receiver you already have?

Is buying a fixed stock receiver not an option?

It can be done but there would have to be a lot of weld and redrilling of holes. When a receiver is almost $100 you'd easily spend a couple hundred dollars or more to reweld the receiver for no reason at all.

You register blank receivers? Seems odd.

You can always weld up the holes or just get another receiver. Childers a recreater are good stuff.

I've welded up a few AK receivers. It's not all that difficult, having a backer helps a lot. Welding over space kinda sucks without a backer.
