ok .. i got a spare semi lower from ebay some time ago .. didnt wanna put any wear on my practically new model b lower ... SO .. i FINALLY got my .22 semi IMI conversion kit a couple hours ago .. and tried it with fresh model b ... cycles flawlessly .. every time ..
put spare lower on .. NOPE .. binds up .. sear wont release striker assembly leg on .22 semi carrier .. so i compare lowers ...
BINGO .. semi parts are different .. BUT .. this lower LOOKS IMI .. down to everything i can see .. here is a pic .. model b lower on left .. unknown manufacture on right .. notice pointed out differences .. the ONLY thing i can thnk is that the .22 semi kit was made to work with lower on left and not on right .. and thats why i cant get it to work with lower on right ? .. is the lower on the right a model A lower ? .. i need you guys with model A;s to please check for me .. also notice the threaded hole in the other thingy ... ( im so confused ) .. please advise or help ..
PS .. im almost darned sure both lowers are factory IMI ..

Nice bed spread! ;)

Wish I had a model A to compare to, I would suggest (till someone with some knowledge replies) comparing the tops of the bolts they came with. I would assUme that the cam thingie and extra 'post thingie' are for the semi barrel to make it funticon better, or retard the bolt to prevent a AD when dropped. As to the drilled hole with groves... I donno why the groves would be there. All this info is based off of our firearms knowledge (I'm the newbiest uzi guy around), so take it as that....

PS. clean them puppies a lil better, I see powder residue in the rails :D :D
edit:
never mind... I donno...

there is only 1 bolt as the right lower is a spare .. ... the cam and postie thing are the semi saftey for my model B ..
and the hole is a drilled hole that is tapped with threads... for what i dunno .. thanks anyway ..
and the bed spread is a table cloth ..

hehehe ..

Looks like an FA selector on the right to me. That "thingey" on the left is what blocks the sear when the safety/selector is in the safe position. The threaded hole is beyond me. Also, the extra part on the right, are a replacement for that safety that is missing. In other words, the cammy thingey replaces the "thingey". :rolleyes That isn't your problem. With what appears to be an FA selector, and the fact that it was a "spare" part type lower, I'd guess that maybe you also have an FA sear and it's binding in the holes of your SA lower. But that's just a guess since the pics don't show enough to be sure. Karl.

Funker, welcome to UZI Talk!

You need to send me a photo of your model A in action so it can be added to the "Members in Action" page - just to remind people that guys with semis can still have a lot of fun.

Thanks for the welcome RoverDave, proud to be aboard, I'll be heading out to the desert next weekend to have a shootinzefest, I,ll get some more photos and I'll then send the to you.
I also have a .22 convertion unit that is from Action Arms, that my wife bought me years ago. I spoke to a someone on line about what i did to fix my jamming problem and he was surprised that my unit had a .22Cal barrel ,his had a barrel insert, what mfg. has the inserts?and how many convertion units are on the market?

Thanks Funker
