Pick this up at a local auction house. Thought it was a steal especially with the first four thousand pistols were supposedly roll-marked in Mandarin script. Not sure if the should stock is genuine or not, dosen't appear so have much of anything for identifying marks.

Original stock? Looks Chinese not Canadian. Check the steel markings.

took a look, there is no felt lining or the different colored wood insert and the no stamps just rough tooling. So my best guess this is a repo stock that would be NFA violation if it was attached correct ?

A pic of a correct interior. Is it legal to attach a reproduction stock to an Inglis? This has been discussed in depth over many years. A repo stock falls in a grey area. But it wouldn't bother me.

IIRC you can not attach any reproduction stock to any of those type of pistolas. Original only.

There’s a technicality on HP prewar guns. I have an Odin stock for the prewar Hi Power (wood stock and leather holster combo) which was made in the 80s. It’s legal to use on a prewar Hi Power because Odin bought all the remaining NOS metal parts from FN, and made around 1,000 units. The atf says they’re legal to use just like an original.

Not the same as Inglis guns, but a neat tidbit of info to hang onto.

Unless things have changed, this applies to all detachable stocked pistols (C-96, P-08, etc, as well as P-35s; IMHO, it's a stupid rule (aren't they all?), the pistols already have the cuts to accept the stocks, so why only original stocks? New ones, made of similar material (wood) and thr same pattern, could do absolutely nothing that the old ones can't.

Reviving an old thread. I am looking at a similar pistol to the OP here. It has that same awful import mark on it (Minus NJ) and only has (2) Chinese Markings also. In my book "Inglis Diamond" all I read is they should have (6) Chinese markings. Any more input on the markings, import mark, era of import?
