congrats on the .45....i feel its the best ,most versatile choice...

when you find ammo on sale id get 10,000.....i can shoot 300-400+ every time i take it out....i typically load up 8- 30 round mags....going through 1500 wont take long....you can find .45 on sale for $240 a case if you look hard enough

Thank you! Although the gun came with 1,500 rds. of ammo and another 1,000 rds. of brass, if I can find a case for $240 I'll definitely jump on it. Thanks for the heads up.

Target Sports USA has Blazer Brass, MagTech and Remington Green box all at $239 a case with free shipping. I've had good luck with Blazer Brass in SMGs but the MagTech tends to be a little weak for some guns IMHO.

I prefer s&b or fiocchi

Look at fps when selecting. Sportsmans guide is where I’ve gotten a lot of my ammo
Always a coupon

Welcome. tothe forums.

Since you mentioned you have empties if you reload and have more then one 45 acp you will need to keep the open bolt 45 acp brass separate from the other guns.
It bulges from the open bolt.
Unless you have some kind of bulge buster die or roll sizer it won't chamber in a closed bolt.
I keep mine separate from my 1911.

Or I should say I guess I have to lots of brass the MAC-10 45brass and 1911 brass.

Thank you for that info.
The Mac is the only .45 I have. But that's great to know in case I pick up a 1911 in the future.
Ive only been a member here for a few days and already I'm learning a ton of stuff. Thanks to all!
In the future I'll post some pictures of the Mac and some info on how I acquired it from a former member. So stay tuned!

I haven't had this problem. I use Lee four die set and the Factory Crimp Die resizes the case a second time to make sure it is in spec. I also check my finished rounds with a gauge as well. My 45ACP reloads shoot fine in my Macs as well as my Reisimg, 1917 Colt pistol, Ruger 45 Blackhawk, and 1911A1.

I use SGAammo or freedommunitions

SGAmmo is a great source. I would not use Freedom Munitions ammo in an open bolt RR. Their brass comes apart and leaves a ring in the chamber followed by an OOB. Vegas can confirm as that is what happened to my M10 so he let me use his Uzi. Did the same thing in his gun. I used up the rest of the FM ammo in 9mm roller locked guns.

I had this happen to me with Fiocchi 45ACP in my Reising. I had a case separation, and had to work to get the case half out of the chamber when I got home.

I also like Target Sports for ammo. Buy it by the case for free shipping.

Same happened to me with freedom munitions "new" ammo. I haven't been able to get the ring out of the barrel, so it is a good thing that I was going to change out the barrel anyway. I use it in my Ruger Blackhawk where case separation isn't an issue.
