Got to see my new (to me) UZI today. It will be in transfer jail for a while but got to see and shoot it today. Thanks to member American180 for making this great UZI available to me. As you can see from this photo, this is serial #2. I did some checking on this and here's the story. When Mike Brown, owner of Group Industries, started making full auto UZIs, he kept #1 for himself, and gave #2 to a good friend of his, who had it until he died. When Mike went to prison, the ATF confiscated his UZI #1 and destroyed it. So #2 is now the oldest surviving Group Industries UZI.

Battering Ram, you'll be glad to know this one runs like a sewing machine. Thanks again American180.

Battering ram wouldn't want it since it isn't NIB.

Personally that serial number is like finding a large diamond. I wish it were mine!

Your welcome Dave. You were able to find out things about it that I never could. I agree with Z06, it couldn't have a better home.

congrats...ive got #99.....or BWE has it that is as of this morning.....looks very minty...id be proud to own #2

not sure if its worth more being #2, but i think it would sell quicker...i like low serial #'s or special versions....in this case you have a rare version w/ a low serial #...

glad to hear it runs

Yes you are, stop kidding yourself.

I've never been one to put much stock in serial numbers. I recently bought a gun for the distinct reason of having andrewski work his magic. When I got the serial number it was really low and made me think twice. It will be a better and more valuable gun after the andrewskificaction so its going, but I kinda get the low number thing now.

Very cool Dave, but I feel like there is so much more story to tell us. Let me guess, its in the book :)

Yes you are, stop kidding yourself.

always takes me back to the guy who had the new gen Steyr Aug serial # 69.....he wanted $500+ extra.......it sat there for 6 months+.....dont know if anyone bought it....i know #2 is more cool than #69....maybe not as cool as having #666 on your UZI.....if i had to choose between 2,69 and 666 im not sure which id pick....

to some #2 is worth a premium to some im sure....to everyone its cool for sure....i dont know if id be willing to pay a premium for it or not. i am into always owning different versions than the standard of most of my guns....

as for NIB...thats a very nice condition UZI....looks as nice as mine...i love the green hand guards........does the park have a green tint to it like mine?

I'm sure #2 was worth a premium, without question. ;)

It never hit the market. That deal was very cool as to the seller offering it to Dave before the public option.

Well to me personally #2 would be worth more because it works.
