the black walnut is just a prototype to see if anyone would be interested. not 'in stock'.
most likely will be getting more to make a 'run, especially if folks keep showing interest.

You are a really lucky guy to have such a great mentor.
Of course you have to offer Black Walnut; it's a Southern Thang!
(Also, IMHO, the prettiest wood for any furniture, from the Gun Room to the Dining Room!)

Very true sniperdoc, I'm super fortunate to have Jeff take me in and show me the ropes!!
It's something I'll never take for granted... And do my best to uphold to the standards he's set.

also I totally agree on the walnut, a beautiful wood!.. so I'm planning to run some as soon as I can.

Wow, they look amazing!

Couple quick questions... Are they drilled for the tensioning springs? What wood was actually used on issued Galil's (back in the day). The ARM handguard I have from one of my parts kits appears to be Teak, will that be an option at some point as well?

I'm definitely interested, and hope to order one of these from you all soon.

Mahalos,

Heres a pic of teak, as I understand it the OGs were made from European beech,
Which I haven't found yet. The HGs aren't drilled for retainer springs, but if one orders
a HG and request it, I'll gladly drill them.

Looking good Bigger Hammer :thumbs_up. I like the Teak, is it raw or oiled? I'm wondering how it would look with some Tung oil.

Man that looks nice, copy all on the springs as well... Many thanks!

Euro beech makes sense, comparing my ARM HG to some HK G3 wood, they certainly look very similar.

Again Mahalo!

If anyone is trying to decide on what type of wood to get,
I can mail scrap pieces of the same wood the HGs are actually cut from.
This way anyone can test different stains and varnishes etc..
I can mail all wood types (if available).

just hit my email: john@hillbillyfirearms.com

Any chance that anyone is still making these? These seem to be some of the only ones that anyone is making?

thanks
