New match participation question, southeast

I have a meeting scheduled with a chief SRO at a rifle/pistol club to discuss them hosting a subgun match. The range is in Conover, NC. Conover is about the center of state. As a distance reference, the proposed location is approximately 7 hours directly south from Tusco. Approximately 3 hours from the NC/Tn border along i40. Approximately 1.5 hours north of the NC/SC border along i77/us 321. Conover is kind of an offshoot to Hickory. Hickory is very close and has a large hotel/restaurant district. I would love to be able to give him a guess at attendance to lobby our case as it being a potential revenue source. In my short time in this hobby, I have come to realize that all the current matches are way north, way west, and way south in Florida. How many of you guys are in the distance range that a southeast subgun match would be feasible for you?

It would be something I would consider. I can tell you that starting a match from the ground up is difficult and even more if its just you, or if you don't have alot of equpiment. The Ohio State Match does as well as it does these days due to always buying equipment every year for the past 7 years I have run it....thats why we have such an array of steel to chose from.
