Fwiw, there was an m79 receiver + bunch of parts on
GB a few months back - wasn’t cheap through… 6K

Same guy was trying to sell the parts on arfcom for a few months with no success


FrankG also sold a complete m79 DD for ~6k 3 or 4 months ago.
It had his MWT electro pencil chicken scratches on the
side of the receiver, which I don’t think I could stomach
owning long term, lol

Couple completed pics; overall, pleased with the outcome

It is surprising how many parts this gun uses given the simplicity of the action.
In particular, the sight assembly seems massively overcomplicated compared to say an m203 sight.

Barrel is a bit tricky to put on, but simple once you figure out the couple tricks..

Yep, will get to that part...

The white plastic barrel cap is just the std MIL barrel/sight protector.
