I may be wrong about RB. I originally thought they were going for a cash grab. Looks like they are going to fight.

I've been telling my friends and family for years that we are heading toward another civil war in this country, it's not just about the 2nd amendment, go through the list, starting
with the first one and think about how Facebook and Google are destroying it. I'm not a doomsayer wacko, just an aging blue collar worker that has been watching our country
evaporate before my eyes thinking how fucked our children are going to be.

They actually have sort of backed ATF into a corner. Their current guys saying this is an MG are going against the guy who literally wrote the textbook they studied on the subject, the guy who taught them from that textbook, and a former head of one of the units that applied that textbook info just like they are supposedly doing. Are they gonna testify that the experts who literally wrote the book and taught it to them are dead wrong? And if they succeed, now they are saying when X testified in that trial that the item was NFA, well he's full of crap so he may have been wrong. Would you like a new trial? Times thousands.

ATF will drag it out until they are broke or have to make a deal to survive financially, or just drop it as soon as a trial date arrives if they can hold out.

I'm sending RBT a check for legal defense.

They deserve support.

You can send yours to:

Or until it goes to the Supreme Court and then they just deny to hear the case

I though the same, but those folks came ready to fight. We have our champion!

That was what I thought also. I am impressed. I am at a point that I need to sell more of my collection for Tenko development. But I plan to send them a couple of hundred dollars for the fight. The ATF has no real oversight unless you have deep enough pockets to fight. I was quoted atleast $100,000.00 in legal fees and two years minimum to sue them over the Tenko determinations. Since I own real machineguns, I am not interested in their trigger. But I am interested in getting Congress to notice how arbitrary they are. I would encourage the community to support this fight whether or not you are interested in their product. The ATF needs to be more accountable.

https://www.ammoland.com/2021/08/did-the-atf-determine-rare-breed-frt-15-was-a-machine-gun-before-examining-it/#axzz74BDrZuDr

FRT-15's determination as MG based on 4Chan video discovered by ATF agent (agent's 4Chan username info not known at this time). :roflmao

Determination was made before they even had a sample of the trigger (they had to purchase one on GB) in possession for examination. :bang

It would be nice if Ammoland had posted the link to the full 102 page PDF .....

Here it is:
https://www.scribd.com/document/520521259/US-DIS-FLMD-6-21cv1245-NOTICE-by-Bureau-of-Alcohol-Tobacco-Firearms-and-E

For those who take the time to read it, you'll notice (beginning on pg4) a trigger assembly functionally similar to the Rare Breed was submitted to the Tech branch by Rick Vasquez Firearms (the same Retired ATF guy giving everyone "advise") in 2018 ....and determined to be an MG

"ATF has previously interpreted the phrase "single function of the trigger" to mean a single movement of the trigger, whether that movement is the pull of the trigger or the release of the of the trigger."

disregard bumpstocks...

disregard bumpstocks...

"single movement" = "single function" = "continuous rearward pressure" = "machine gun"

I am no attorney either. But where I am confused is whether all FRT15 owners are in possession of a machinegun NOW or do they wait till the
outcome at court??

Not an attorney, but anticipate RBT has slim chance getting the courts to take their side and rule against the ATF

Like it or not...ATF is given authority for making "interpretive changes" (i.e., "moving goal posts"). Think that is more or less what Villafuego and I were pointing out above.

From the videos on their website it essentially converts a stock AR15 into one with a "bump grip". You wrap it around the upper grip and it can move back and forth. You hold your grip around this piece instead of the grip, essentially. This allows the gun to buck back and forth against your trigger finger during recoil, mimicking the action of a bump stock or bumpfiring in general.

I bought both AR hellfire models. It took FOREVER to get them. I installed the one where there's a set screw up into the trigger group. I didn't see how it was going to work. Not having time to test fire them I tossed them into a box to deal with another day. Then the FRT came out and I never looked back. At some point I may play with them again, but my AR is tied up with the FRT and I don't feel like removing it. Hopefully I won't HAVE to....

Then if its bucking back and forth
you are not holding the AR15 as one would normally hold , so it would not be intuitive
This one is not for me!!

My buddy put his FRT in a new dedicated PSA pistol lower today with a 5 oz buffer and Shockwave blade stabilizer. Thing worked like a charm first time out. The SW blade was very uncomfortable in the shoulder and we will replace it with a SB brace soon. We sot 200 rounds of 300BO with subs and HV in a PSA 7" upper. We both were pulling easy singles, which was a surprise to us both. It really is a fun and fast way to waste lots of ammo. :)
