Myself and my son went to the range today, we took along some 9mm reloads a buddy gave me, and now i know why, it does not function in my UZI CARBINE very good, it seemed like every 3rd. round would either jam, or not eject properly, i was shooting winchester reloads, regular 9mm loads.

this ammo shot fine in my Glock, to an certain limit, it seemed to jam also after about 10 mags of it in it.

SO i switched to some 9mm +P+ Hirtenberger SMG ammo for my UZI, this ammo ran great, no load or jam problems at all, really ran awesome.

My only problem is, iam down to just over 1000 rounds of this.

Does anyone know a good source for +P+ ammo, either in German Hirtenger, or IMI .

By the way, i picked up a HEESE HK 94 clone saturday at a gun show, the +P+ ammo, ran great in it also.

Definitely something wrong with those reloads. All my 9mm caliber firearms are fed a strict diet of about 98% of the time are my reloads. This includes full auto full size, Mini and Micro UZI's as well as pistols.

You don't "need" to get just hot stuff to run in an UZI Carbine. Regular Winchester white box stuff from Walmart should function properly in it.
Stay away from the yellow box Remington as it's underpowered.

the reloads he gave me was a white box regular Winchester from wal-mart.

My gun ran fine on the +P+ , ammo, mabe my gun does not like them for some reason, it would shoot fine for about 3-5 rounds, then would not load right, as if they was stove pipeing in the breech.

THe same ammo, would jam up in my glock, and my HEESE clone.

I only shoot reloads. 115 grain bullet, 5.9 grain VV 3N37 and S&B primer. Cases I use everything except S&B cases. Never have problems.

What does that mean? Where they reloads or factory Winchester white box? They can't be both.

I shoot nothing but reloads in mine and they work great. If you gun won't run with factory Winchester white box ammo, then there's something wrong with your gun - which is not uncommon for a Vector. Give us more detail on exactly what jaming behavior you had.

If your gun wont work with Winchester white box there is something biending your bolt or bad mags. You should not need to run +p+ to get your gun to function. I use WWB to test fire all the guns I repair because it works and it is probably the most popular ammo right now.

I feed my FA Uzi reloads most of the time and have had no problems.

I agree with the others. I start with new Winchester

white box so I can reload once fired brass. I have never had a problem with any of my reloads.
Most importantly, I have a strict policy not to shoot anyone else's reloads, for the obvious reasons. If one of your buddy's reloads would have been a squib or double charge you could have clogged the barrel, hurt yourself or someone else, and your buddy could have just walked away. Food for thought.

Probably just really light loads. Most of the guys I know that reload make really light target loads with enough powder to make their pistol cycle to cut the recoil down and supposedly increase accuracy. I'd be interested to here what the load was - powder type and charge and bullet type and weight. I never let anyone shoot my reloads either. If they whine enough I make them get some powder, bullets, and a six pack then come over and let them use my equipment.

Yeah probably just too light on the powder charge. I had the same thing happen with my 230gr 45 acp loads. They worked my 1911 just fine, but my West Hurley Thompson ran in slow motion! I bumped the powder charge and it works grea now.

Have you taken out the extractor and cleaned it lately? A lot of people over look that.

FWIW.My bolt gun has run on anything I have tried-YES even low powered remington.I am currently reloading my own subsonics and it runs flawless on them as well.Current load is 3.6gr titegroup,CCI primers,Precision Delta 147gr FMJ-runs good in my MAX-11 as well.WWB from wally world should have more than enough power to run your gun.

First mistake, Don't shoot other peoples reloads
I'd bet the farm that your reloaded brass is improperly sized. There are very, very few Uzis that will not eat any properly sized ammo. Get a case guage and guage some of that 9mm reloaded stuff and I'll bet you'll find that much of it won't fit because of a bulged base on the brass. If you find this to be the problem, I highly suggest that you pull the ammo down and either reload it to proper spec or discard it before you end up with an out of battery detonation and ruin your gun or you face or that of a bystander. Hirtenberger has been dried up for years.

No surprise. Yellow box Remington works fine for me also in my full size UZI. Just some have a stiffer recoil spring.

But note that this guy is running a SEMI. In a semi UZI, you have two springs that retard the rearward motion of the bolt. The recoil spring and the striker spring. Note it takes around 30 lbs of force to charge the bolt of a semi UZI or CLOSED bolt FA UZI while it takes around 18 lbs to charge an open bolt UZI.
In addition, your registered bolt is also slotted so that is less weight.

That Titegroup load is great. Been using that load for a few years now. Works in everything that I've tried. All UZI's open and closed bolt, 9mm M16's, MP5's and all 9mm pistols I've tried. I know max load is 3.6 but I load it so that sometimes it varies up to 3.7. Friend of mine loads to 3.9 with no problems... But I don't stray that far from Max recommended load.
