Try different ammo or if you reload different powder. I can do mag dumps with my Universal clays reloads with no issues but 3 - 5 rounds of hs6 has me feeling like I was hit in the face with pepper spray.

Each gun is different. Some gas the hell out of your face. And some aren’t too bad. Suppressors are more of a gimmick to me

I rarely use mine. Yet excited for my .22 suppressor coming soon.

The worst part is cleaning it. A few mins of use and 1-2 hours of cleaning. Often over days of soaking in nasty dip. Upside on a suppressor is just the cool factor for me

Cleaning cans?

Lol. WHY?

Other than rimfire, it's really not needed. If you insist upon doing so, so the silicone treatment, and thank me later.

I went way over 10k rounds through my Sparrow. Buildup wasn't even close to as bad as you'd expect. Only reason I cleaned it at all, was that a bunch of my other cans showed up, and I silicone treated them. So might as well do the Sparrow too.

The Omega9/45k are sealed pistol cal cans, designed specifically for subgun use. And people aren't crying about it. In fact, the cans work great.

User serviceable cans are a market gimmick (talk to the guys making them, one on one). Gives buyers the option. Doesn't mean you HAVE to.

Clean them. Remove any o rings.

Heat your baffles, and if the tube collects residue, to 250-275 in oven. Not too hot or you may change the properties of metal, especially alum.

Drop baffles in silicon. This way faster.

Or -

heat silicon to 250-275 in a heatable container , drop baffles in silicon. Some use dot5silicon brake fluid.

Prob better this way Bc the temps stay warmer longer. . Let cool. This way takes longer.

Remove parts and let drip dry on paper towels for a few hours.

Reconfigure.

Silicon seems to coat and seal the metal and prevents buildup moreso than other treatments— According to one researcher. I had limited success on a sparrow, the side plates didn’t seem to take the silicon as well.

I said tell, not show. BTW, do you think that will sink or float in the Pacific ocean? I know the answer because it was a topic of discussion and a practical demonstration on a dive trip I was on a few years ago.

Thanks Lawbob. All the links I found led to the same non-functioning site.

Shooting outdoors will alleviate the problem. I used an Octane45HD which did not gas much at all. When I bought the Gemtech Multimount 9mm can, it was a little more significant. The gas/brass kicker will alleviate most of the gassing problem.
