The receivers of mac platforms dont have the clearance for the rear of an AR15 hammer.
There was a guy years ago that developed a drop in rate reducer that used a modified AR hammer, but still needed severe modifications cutting the hammer so it would lay flat enough for the bolt to travel over the top of it.
I guess I was one of the only guys that bought one like that. I haven't heard of anyone else having one

Anybody shot this that owns a transferable that can do a comparison of feel? That would be an interesting youtube video.

Interesting testing of the Rip Mac lever FRT. For those members who have a MPA Defender.

Not mine.

Hard trigger pull - single shot
Soft trigger pull - FRT.

VIDEO:

I like MPAs 30K 9mm aluminum lower pistol. It's got that 80's G vibe. I think with a AR15 trigger it will be better and probably easier for the SS/ FRT fun. MSRP price of $899 is kinda high so not going to be on my short list.

MPA if you're listening, I'd be happy to test one for you. I live down the road. :)

Have you seen the SAS9?
It's the aluminum lower like the 30K 9mm but it has been tested with the super safeties and appears to work with slight modification.

The MPA30K does look the business.

So they just launched their colt magazine version of the m-11/9 style upper based off the mac n cheese design. I've got one on order and with any luck I'll see it in another month or so. They've got super safety kits for it, so we'll see how this compares to the real thing sooner rather than later.

That's more like it. It's a little chunky and has more material than it needs.

One thing I like about Lage designs is how he gets rid of the extra material. There is room for a fore finger mag release.

DB9 SS with trip bar.

Sounds like the autowerkes rate reducer. Dropped in behind the bolt and had the spring loaded hammer to slow down bolt travel.

The FRT integration with the closed bolt MACs seems to be most practical and efficient with the printed frames that use AR FCGs or the ones being shared in this thread that they are now manufacturing, that appear to be based on those same printed designs, but made from aluminum.

Man that thing looks a lot like the armitage or Cobray skorpion… but streamlined and modernized.

Wow. The straight mag one looks great.
Is the colt mag the best choice? I would have thought Uzi mags made better sense due to cost, availability and design.

They could have added a top rail option in the back for people with top cocking uppers.

The gun linked above has an AR style bolt catch. The Colt 9 mm magazines have a tab at the back of the follower, at the back of the magazine, which can activate the bolt catch when the magazine is empty. Back in the day, M60Joe could weld a tab to activate the bolt catch on the back of the Uzi follower. He would also machine a slot for the mag catch so an Uzi mag could be used in a Colt 9 mm AR-15 style carbine. The Uzi mag is a little smaller than the Colt mags, so the modified Uzi mags would rattle in the Colt magwell. Most American shooters tend to want the action to lock back when the mag empties. For a magwell that is not in the grip, the backwards rake of a Glock magwell, tends to make inserting a Glock mag more awkward than the vertical Colt mag along with easier loading of a double stack, double feed Colt style mag.

I like the look of the riptide upper on the AR fcg MAC. It does make me wonder, can the gun even be called a MAC any longer as it shares virtually zero parts compatibility with the platform?
I do think it looks very cool, and I want one (as I do everything).

A new challenger has arrived.
Took about 15 yrs longer than I though. Thanks again to the FRT for pushing more innovation. Best yet, uses AR15 FCG and SS. Nice.
