I don't think I have ever seen another C&R gun for sale. Not that I was looking too hard. Somebody really wanted it.

Looks like that UZI and many of those items were owned by 'J R Moody'. I believe that is Joe Moody. Really nice guy. I remember him telling me he had one of those UZI's. He is also the inventor of the Grip Pod. Made millions selling that to the military but he was already well off before that.

Thanks for the info on the Grip Pod, it's nice to know it came from a gun guy!

Long story but it was a joint deal. I believe Moody came up with the idea but Gaddini definitely did the manufacturing. I think at some point Moody bought it out from Gaddini.

Joe Moody gave me some guidance back when I was doing the patent for my gas block.

A pre-1968 original Israeli UZI has always been the most expensive production UZI and they've run 3-4 times the price of a Vector or conversion gun for a long time. Back when you could buy a vector for $2800, a pre-1968 was selling for $10k-$12k, so the ratio has stayed fairly consistent with this gun selling at $60k. For at least 20 years, people laugh at the price of a pre-1968, then five years later that cry over what they could have bought.

Upper estimate was $22,000, lol. Not sure who was estimating that, but an original imported IMI pre-68 that's now a C&R, I would've pegged the minimum at $40k.

edit*- Someone also paid $18,500 for an original Thompson 100-round drum.

The Grip Pod was indeed a joint venture between Joe Moody and Mr. Gaddini.

Joe is a great guy and extremely knowledgeable on machine guns. Joe also had a substantial collection, with many exotic items, some of which were virtually mint. I recall shooting his Beretta Model 12s years back, along with some other uncommon subguns.
