I have 3 M16A2s and an SMG and I keep an eye on prices almost daily, especially the ones that actually sell. Here's where I think the market currently is based on actual sales in the past 6-12 months:

Conversions (AR15/Bushhampster, etc): $30K
Model 614: $35k
M16A1 RR: $35-39k (several GB auctions from Gold Standard Auctions and Sienna Armory)
M16A2 RR: $50,000 (several sold in a craze that peaked about 6 months ago [same 2 GB sellers above] - I have not seen one sold since, but Ruben has one listed at $50k right now and I wager it will be gone soon)
RDIAS - last one I saw sold for $36k a couple of months back: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/923657856

I have links to representative auctions if you want them. They're all saved on my watchlist till they're 90 days or whatever the limit is.

interesting, so i guess that would make the gun in the second link a bargain. arf.com seems to be a good place to find decent deals, bought my ar15 conversion and an ac556 for less than the going rate there some years ago. glad i bought when i did.

If I wanted a Colt M16A1 registered receiver, I'd strongly consider that one assuming it checks all the boxes (decent condition, paperwork, Seller and SOT check out and have their crap in order). While you may find one for $30k in the next 6-12 months if you scour the forums daily, I think the greater risk is you will wind up paying $35k+ when prices go up. See:

What do you think a Group Industries stainless steel M16A1registered receiver would be worth today?

I think there are a number of people here who own GI RRs.
My guess upper 30s / maybe even a bit more than a Colt M16A1
to the right buyer. Condition can vary on these a lot as some were heavily used,
had pins in wrong place / egged holes, and some have been reworked/refinished to perfect condition.

Last one of these I saw publically offered was a couple years ago on STURM at 32k which was a bit more than A1s we’re going for at the time…

I would pass on that EA lower. Cast, not to mention poor quality control.

Ruben just sold a LNIB A2 for $50k over the weekend; and I think a 614 for $48k and another A1 for $40k

If you want to save the auctions past 90 days

If you would bring up the auction that you want to save, put your cursor in the white space and right click ,then left click print and make the destination a PDF and then you will have all of it in your downloads

I have a us property M16A1 unfired N.I.B. I will let go for $85,000. It is a collector from the Vietnam era, you can shoot if you want, but it is more of a collector
