Can anyone tell me about the finish on a Model A made from 1980 - 1983 imported by Action Arms? The one I'm looking at has a blackish, maybe parkerized, finish. Is this the finish manufactured on the pistol or was it done later?
Also, can this one be legally converted to full auto?

To answer your question about converting it to full auto, that would be a negative, sir.

Yes, It can be legally converted by a class II gunsmith. but then it can ONLY be owned by a Govt. agency such as a police dept, ect..

If you buy a registered bolt, then this Uzi could be converted to full auto. I'm not familiar with current prices on registered bolts, but I'd guess they're running about $3,000 (give or take). Can't comment on the finish.

Model A's were parkerized and then a painted over the top of that. The Model A's I've seen have a fairly glossy black finish.

Looks like got answers on the conversion. Yes, it can be converted by a class II manufacturer but you couldn't own it after that. I can be used to host a full auto bolt that was converted before 1986.

I totally forgot about the registered bolt option where he can still legally own the gun.

Yup, as they said, with that gun you can only do a legal conversion with a reg'd. bolt. That's what I have. The last ones I've seen in 9mm were $2,995.00. They shot from $2,000.00 to $2,995.00 as soon as the Vectors started to go up. Karl.
