Looks great. Makes me happy to see that Samson makes their factory style folder for the 10/22. Years ago I had a 10/22, one of my first guns and I was desperate to find one of the original ramline side folders that resembled the factory mini-14 folder, they were extremely hard to come by and I ended up settling for a vintage Ramline synthetic side folder instead, with the fold-up butt similar to the factory folder.

That said, I wish they would use birch for the Samson stocks, or at least ditch the dark stain on the walnut. I have an earlier iteration of the Samson and it’s a gorgeous polished lacquered blonde wood, I believe also walnut (don’t think they have used anything else) and it works much nicer with the stainless guns than their satin finish dark brown stained walnut that they have switched over to. The dark brown doesn’t look bad with blued guns though, certainly looks nice on your 10/22.. almost a close match to your rather dark birch factory folder on that mini.

Thank you!
I’m happy that they chose to make them as well. That being said, I’ve got 3 factory folder rugers and the Samson stock is a really good copy, but definitely NOT perfect. I’m really happy with the look and think the darker stock goes well with the charger.

Here’s my AC-556K, next the the mini 14 sbr. It took me years to find the correct front sight that wasn’t a million dollars and or looked like it’s been to a few wars. Thanks to @Offmarksman, I found a LNIB one that was cheap. Frankly, it was kinda by luck as he found one reasonably priced and sent it me but it was kinda rough. I asked the gentleman any chance if he had a nicer one and he said I got one that looks new. He charged me a bit more for it and the rest is history.

I have seen that video, both guns look great. That factory folder on the mini happens to be one of the darker ones that look really nice with blued steel guns, I tend to prefer the lighter more orange colored birch (like your AC556) on the stainless minis and the darker examples on the blued guns. Also, I think that’s actually another item that is offered by Samson now, those AC556k style gas block front sights.

Yes, Samson is making a front gas block sight with a side sling point. Its really nice but this was a factory folder already and their sight wouldn’t have worked as the lower gas block has the side sling swivel. Plus, I’m a nerd when it comes to the these (not sure why).

Side sling swivel is of course king.. (if you can get one). Not all the factory folder guns came with the side swivel. I recently paid out the ass for a SS factory side swivel gas block, because I’m a nerd with these as well. I personally couldn’t even do the Samson stock on my mini-14.. the matte finish grip and matte walnut just wasn’t doing it for me. I need that shiny Bakelite grip and polished birch in my life.

Done!
That being said, I might go with a smaller red dot (I’ll have to save up for one) and I think a micro dot would be cool for this. Nevertheless, I found this res dot and it works fine.
Don’t mind the missing baseboard, been working on another home project.

Here’s the first test:

Personally, I think Samson did a really good job with these stocks.
