Hello my fellow Uzi Americans.

I was just wondering, Does the micro uzi have something like buffer plate or something to help the bolt not have to travel back so much, so that the ROF is increased? Like the MAC10 has a "MAC JACK" to increase its rate of fire. If this is so, Where could one purchase or have one made for the Micro uzi?

Thanks a bunch fellas.

Maybe I'm not understanding you, but you want to increase the ROF on a micro??? It's not fast enough for you??

In general, people use trimmed down recoil buffers in the full size Uzi and even in the mini to increase ROF. I'd be surprised if there was much room for something like that in a micro.

lol, Yes, I want to INCREASE the ROF fire in a Micro Uzi. I know it seems like a crazy thing to do, but I want to know if it can be done or not. I read the article Tommygun2000 posted on his buffer project and eagerly await his findings. So what I need to know is, Would a buffer of some kind just install like it would in a Full Size or Mini? I know there is little room back. Whadda ya think?

Send a PM to askimball and ask about his buffer material. It's only .230". It would work if any would. Karl.

Easy way to double your rof... shoot two micros... one in each hand like Chuck Norris did in: "Invasion U.S.A." ...um, nevermind!

Yes, it should install just like on a full size. You could take a slice off of one of the full size recoil buffers and put the slice in the gun. You'll have to play around with thickness to see if there is something that will still allow the bolt to retract far enough but still reduce the travel a meaningful amount.

Keep in mind that the higher the ROF, the more likely you'll have feeding problems because everything needs to be just perfect. We eagerly await the results!

Dave-

Wouldn't you say it is a polymer plastic material ? Bendable but not breakable and since it takes the full force of the bolt on it's flat surface it should last a good long while. I think anyone who has used recoil buffers in a 1911 have a general idea of the material. Wilson used to sell theirs injection molded on a sort of "tree" arrangement.

Increasing the ROF in a micro UZI ? Some peoples kids....I guess a jillion rounds a minute is just not good enough. Fire breather anyone ?:uzi :evilgrin

Yes, I think they probably are some sort of plastic since the material is much stiffer than rubber.

I think that sounds like an uzitalk contest - see who can wear out their buffer first! (Or go broke trying.)

Dave-

You are right, it sounds like an UZI forum contest for sure for all the FA enthusiasts. I don't think it would be fair for the FA to compete against the SA.....do you ?
