Michigan State Subgun Match

Hello my fellow UziTalk'ers,

This is just a heads up post so that folks can get their summer travel plans started. We will post an official announcement here with signup information at a later date. The limited spots for this match will likely fill up quickly, so be sure to keep an eye out and sign up quickly when it's officially announced.

Continuing in the excellent tradition established by Medic21, I'm assisting Garrett with setting up the Michigan State Subgun Match this year. We are slotted to be shooting in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan on August 10th. Michigan in the summer is really quite nice (usually) if you'd like to plan a vacation trip. I know that Richard Lage is planning to attend and will likely have something new and exotic to show off (no promises, but that's how he rolls). It is a great match with a really nice facility and fantastic folks. I've also heard that the match director is quite attractive!

How many spots are there at this match? I have some flexible travel plans around Traverse City in August and might be able to plan around spending that Saturday in Mt. Pleasant.

Less than a month to go. Getting excited...

As many of you know, the range is under new ownership, with the transition having taken place just before the subgun match last year. The new owners are very supportive of the subgun match and want to continue to make this a fixture going forward. They have also been making some huge improvements to the range over the past 12 months. Aside from the font bay, the rest of the range looks very different. They are building this into a first-class training and shooting facility. I'm already thinking of all of the opportunities it will afford us in future years.

Here's a sneak peak. The girls and I have been building something in the garage. Not exactly a Killdozer. More like the Plywood Panzer.

Lage Manufacturing will be sponsoring the "Lage Challenge" at the 2024 Michigan Sate Subgun Match. The fastest overall shooter using a Lage Manufacturing upper receiver will receive a Lage Challenge Trophy Plaque and a $200 cash prize.
