MAX-11 mk1 slightly modified. Almost ready to test fire. Several more mods are in the works until it's done, but here's a teaser.

Todd, sorry I missed you in TC. Your stock is bigger than your gun!

So you spent $700+ on a Max-11 upper, then chopped it up and turned it into a factory upper? Or am I missing something?

:lol

The AR stock is on board because the Lage stock has been modified for the closed bolt and has lost some integrity. I have a couple friends borrowing the lower at the Creek this October and I want the strongest stock attached as possible. One of them is pretty hot and it's not Thomas.

Missed you too, buddy.

I am thinking the same thing. How can you slow the rate of fire with a stock length receiver?

The new max11 doesn't have a cantilever bolt weight, it doesn't extend beyond the trunion as before. So the extended receiver is just for looks/longer barrel now.

My guess is he is just doing this to the Mk1 (chop the cantilevered portion off).

Search these pages and a little voice (lage) said "yes, an enterprising person could theoretically cut the "extended" portion of the upper back..."

Viola.

I'm really curious what the ROF will be.

It should be slightly slower than the mk1 speed bolt. I may end up needing to add W to the bolt weight though, we'll see. My regular mk1 k runs about 800 suppressed. The Super K bolt assembly is about 2oz lighter.

This will be mainly for shooting suppressed in competition. It's not a PDW.

So, taller than OEM. Cute. What stock adapter is that? Are you using any part of the TASK setup?

It's a custom one I made several years ago. It's a USMG adapter that I modified by cutting off the bottom and welding a 1/4" plate to the bottom. It's much cleaner looking than any of the ones currently on the market.

No TASK stuff either.

And the AR stock looks better with the regular upper or the suppressor attached. It looks a little goofy in this pic.

Thats what I was thinking. Not impressed with the commercially available offerings. Been considering modding my Lage adapter to accept an ACE pignose.
