I finnaly got my M11 Thursday. So I install my Max11 kit and went to the range today. Everything worked great.I came home and took it apart to clean. Very easy gun to take apart and clean. I went to reinstall the front grip and gave it a gentle wack with the palm of my hand and then I heard a cracking sound. The front end circle broke in two. Brought tears to my eyes.

So I just sent an email off to buy a metal front end and while I was at it I want to order the speed bolt. Oh well things happen.:slap

passgas55,

Let Richard know. He'll take care of you. Do you have a picture? I'm having trouble understanding what broke.

Send the old one back so I can re-use the bottom picatinny rail and thread inserts and I'll send you a new one. No charge.

You can't give that part a "gentle whack". I let a friend borrow my upper for testing and evaluation and he did the same thing and broke it in the same place using "gentle" force. Too bad, he never got to shoot the upper. That front piece fits perfectly... you need to wiggle it in not whack it. :slap

Mine broke on one side like that I think just from shooting. Richard sent me a new one already. I never hit the thing, I'm not really sure how else ot could have broken.

Damn the bad luck...

I just got back from the range, I'd installed the gas block Richard sent out so I could run my new Trident. I picked it up by the grip I had mounted on the bottom rail & my Max hit the floor harder than one of those UFC guys. Anyone had the inserts that mount the picatinny pull out? Will some JB weld do the trick??? Sure wish Murphy would leave my "twins" alone....:nutkick

Mine became loose, but did not pull out. I JB Welded it together and it has been fine ever since.

I spoke to Richard about it at the range one day and he approved of the repair.

you guys have got me worried. I don't want to JB weld anything on my gun or have to baby the front grip. Maybe I should go with a metal fore grip even though I like the look of the normal one?:silly

All I JB Welded was the thread inserts. You cannot see it from the exterior. I don't baby mine, although the metal foregrip would take more abuse.

No expert in making parts plastic or metal but I think the weak point is were the two plastic points are glue/weld together. Adding a metal ring between the two points may give you more strenght. Problem would be the cost in redoing your molds. For me the answer was to get the metal.

The thread inserts were revised awhile ago. The old ones are aluminum and can be pulled out from the bottom if overstressed. The new ones are brass and will not pull through.

If you have a problem with your grip with the old style thread inserts, e-mail me. I will be happy to upgrade the grip with the new brass thread inserts for free.

Thanks for the info Richard. The way you back your product is really reassuring, I'll stick to the plastic HG.

Passgas55.......I broke mine in the exact same place while reassembling after cleaning. I just figured I applied a bit to much pressure in the wrong spot. I ordered a replacement and Richard got it out to me ricky tick.

Richard's service rocks!
