There's the old adage: everyone wants things good, fast and cheap. Reality dictates you can get any two of the three.

wI emailed and got on the list a couple of days ago. Fortunately, my M11 had the TASK conversion on it when I bought it. Wish I could beta test. It is gonna be a long wait as I am #429 on the list.

ciener belt fed conversion kit ar-15

Would it be feasible to install a ciener belt fed conversion kit in the Max 15 upper? Seems possible from first glance?
Thoughts?

Seems a quick way to upgrade an already awesome upgrade to the M11. Perhaps we could even buy just another stripped Max15 upper so we could use either one on our M11

The Ceiner design was a copy of an early Colt design. Valkyrie Armaments refined that design and added external bolt catch activation. The design was then sold to Slidefire (as in the stock manufacturer) and further refined to use standard M27 links. The previous designs all used a modified link. To install this belt feed unit, the rear pin is pulled and the upper receiver is tipped up. The belt feed unit slides down into the magwell. There is no separation between the magwell and the bolt group in the M11/15 as in the AR design. The M11/15 would need to be redesigned to have a removable magwell. Also the cocking handle of the M11/15 is right where the shuttle mechanism of the belt feed unit mounts. Again more redesign. As PP it could be done but would require a complete redesign.

Ciener is a douchebag of the highest order.

Boy, there is the biggest understatement I've read all month........

Not real sure but I'd tend to agree with Brother Evil that it's a major redesign to work if at all.

I saw the M11/15 upper shooting a beta mag so I don't really see a need for belt fed. Maybe an MG42 upper will be in the works, or even better maybe a mini gun upper? I wonder what ATF would say to that? I would be like a pig in slop with the M11/15. I wish Mr. Lage all the best along with everyone else who is involved with the M11/15.

Ok what did this guy Ciener do?

It appears that Jonathan Arthur Ceiner was not a warm/cordial or customer oriented businessman.

In the days before the internet (and possibly to this day) he ran adds in the backs of all of the gun rags for title II items and rim fire conversions for popular centerfire semi auto handguns th AR 15 and the Ruger AC556/Mini 14.

His mail order business model was simple in that you would send him money (check/money order) with an order form and supposedly you got your goods whenever.

In fact, if you go to his website, and want to order an item you still have to conduct business by mail.

You cannot order directly from his website.

From what I've heard, if you called to follow up on your order or to complain (if you could get him on the phone) he would berate the caller, insult them, hang up and supposedly shuffle the callers order to the bottom of the pile.

He supposedly did business like this for years.

I've also read that when dealing with people he knew personally he was a totally different person.

He has an extremely poor reputation in the firearms business community but that said, the BBB Shows him with A+ rating.

I never did business with him, so I'm only sharing what I've read.

Supposedly here in 2011 he was charged with fraud and theft or something when someone (an LEO I believe) ordered some rim fire conversions and never received them.

I don't know if that story is true but there're a few out there on the web to review.
