This is what my FFL can do for me: MASTERPIECE ARMS MPA 930SST 9 3IN TB SC BRL EXT 35 RND $467.00

Now I've owned many many extended magazines prior to the high-cap ban in 2000. I have bullet buttons on all of my assault weapons as per DOJ. As long as I am a resident of CA I will tolerate and abide by all rules and regulations. Can someone familiar with this type of pistola and CA's version of freedom & justice tell me what my options are here.

Having said that... thank you for allowing me to join your forum, I've ben drooling over the pictures all day.

Welcome to the forum. I had one of these pistols, but I remember it costing a lot less. I think I only paid about 350 for mine NIB. But, times-a-changin I guess. Anyways, it is a nice weapon. The trigger slap is a little rough on your finger. It takes sten mags so that is a lot cheaper than the older Cobray ones. I suggest you keep it in stock condition, however I'm a bit of a purist. FTF Industries has some parts if you need. I have no idea on the rules of CA, and pardon me if I dont bother to read them. I think you will have fun with the pistol though.

Where in Ca are you Blacky? These are legally sold by saavy dealers who know its not an approved (listed on the CA DOJ Roster) handgun in stock condition.

There are type 07 dealers in the Bay Area and Central Valley who tack weld a muzzle brake (threaded barrel on an auto loader is illegal) and convert it to be a single shot firearm (legally bypassing the Roster).

By the way; Mine ran me within $50 of your quoted price.

Thanks and sorry, I forgot to subscribe/instant email notifications so I didn't see the re's until just now. Im concerned that my FFL isn't making any modifications. I don't want to see him lose his licenses and I certainly do not want to buy something I cant shoot.

as long as it does not have a threaded barrel on it it should be legit. i think that mpa sells them without threaded barrels which would be the only "assault weapon" feature (does not have: barrel shroud, hand guard, threaded barrel, accepts mag outside of grip, etc.). do some more research over at calguns.net. at the top of the page they have the assault weapon regulation and a check list to walk you through it. where in ca are you?

I know this is a dated thread, but I just thought I would chime in on current availability of Masterpiece Arms pistols and carbines in Commie-fornia.

Masterpiece Arms now offers a California compliant version of the rifle and pistol that uses a clever detachable but not detachable magazine. The magazines have a locking mechanism that allows them to be detached with a tool that is sold with the fire-arm.

Very handy.

sorry to hear that you cool cats in Cali don't have the proper access to fire arms that all good peace loving Americans should have.
