The 32rd painted IMI advertised mags by Vector that I have received in orders this year are star marked 32rd painted mags. These have function flawlessly in Vector HR4332's. Would be willing to do a group purchase on them in quanties if there is enough interest to make it worth while for everyone.
Stovearms, I haven't seen one of the star marked 32's personally. Do they have the thick folded seam in the back like a star marked 25 or do they have a flat seam like the "IMI" marked 32's?
Personally I haven't seen much correlation between the finish on the mags and the reliability. I have some enamel finished South African mags and they work about the same as the standard parkerized South African mags. If finish was the key, then the high gloss blued finish mags (which are probably Mec-Gar) would be the best mags of all. The 32 round Mec-Gars do seem to be very good but I don't think they're better than IMI.
I will be talking to Rex today and will try to arrange a group buy. Their normal price is $39. If I can get them for $35 or less I'll get a bunch for members here. You can start chiming in on this thread to indicate how many you think you'd want. (Assume a price of $35 but I'll see if I can do better.)
Also, I have arranged another bulk purchase. I wasn't going to say anything until next week when I have them in hand and have checked them out but since we're on the topic... I will have 10 or 11 mag sets to sell. Each set has one 40 round mag and two 25 round mags. The 25 round mags are very good condition star marked IMI. The 40 round mag is new in wrap high gloss finish. They have a "made in Italy" sticker on them so they would be Mec-Gar. I had not heard of 40 round Mec-Gar's before but everyone seems to say that the 32 round high gloss Mec-Gars work very nice. If the 40's are on par with that, they could be one of the best 40 round mags around. I'll test one before I sell them. I'll sell the set of three mags for $55 ($27 for the 40 round and $14 each for the 25's.) I won't be breaking up the sets. You can also chime in on this thread if you're interested. I reserve the right to limit each member to one set if enough people are interested. You can request miltiple sets and I'll see what the final count is.
