I too have one. They fit without problem if you have a GLN series Golani or a true Galil. If you GAL series Golani you may have to "fit" it.

I have a GAL receiver and had to square up the base of the receiver and the front of the mag well and truniion. I also had to do a little work on the front of the adapter. go slow and take a little material at a time. works great. GAL aren't original anyways so it didn't bother me that I had to machine the receiver.
I'ld call Nathan at Magnolia State Armory and see if he has some in stock. He had a huge problem with paypal and they froze his account so he didn't have capital while he was in the hospital. call first.

Was thinking about this one as a project http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=163713028

Anyone have any knowledge/experience with this? Better? Worse?

OK, I emailed the seller and asked if this adapter has the AK Mag release lock out feature. His response was he has no idea what I am talking about.

Soooo . . .

Anyone here know anything about this item?

Phil

No lockout on that one, Phil.

The "lock out feature" is not something that is of much importance as the adapter should fit snug in the rifle. Mine works fine, has never fallen out nor given me any trouble.

Hey Capt Phil,
If it is going into a Golani you could always pin it in yourself. It's not like you are going to loose value in it.

Hey CaptPhil, when you talk to Nathan at Magnolia Armory, tell him to just send you mine. I paid for it last year and never got it, so maybe he'll send it to you. He won't send it to me.

I have an original Israeli made mag adapter for my IMI Galil. There were several variations made back then and I don't know which one I have but it does not have the lock out pin but I don't think it needs it. It fits tight and I can still remove it easily and quickly if I need to. Haven't used it much in quite a while as I now have a large supply of steel Galil mags. I just hold on to the adapter because I know M16 mags will always be around.
