Hi! new Mac owner here. Someone was nice enough to send me some pages out of the mac man book. In the book it states that overstamp guns were made approx between 78-82.

My serial is A8xx, there there any information to get a production year or month for my records, slightly more precise than the book?

Thank you ! and yep i searched!

A Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) request to the BATFE should/might provide more information. I haven't done one in over nine years, so I can't say what the current process and results are.
Good luck.
MHO, YMMV, etc.

You can create a login and submit a FOIA request through the Secure Release portal at https://www.securerelease.us/. I’ve had some requests come back in as little as a few weeks with others taking several months. The FOIA should include the original Form 2 submission to ATF when the gun was registered by RPB. Note that anything sent back from your FOIA request will have any names and addresses redacted, however the dates are still able to be read. Also, you can only submit a FOIA request if the gun is currently registered in your name.

When you say “currently registered in your name,” would that exclude trust-held guns?

made a login there , no ATF listed in addressable agencies
There used to be a Department of Justice choice, which then let you select ATF, but I just logged in and see it’s no longer a choice. Not sure why…
