Agree. So what will the new starter guns be? Rieslings, spitfires, and tube guns?

I'm not sure much will change in terms of the types of starter MG's. I believe that MACs, Reisings, Sten tube guns, and Stemples will probably remain in the same starter price range. Maybe MACs could appreciate a little faster, but there are so many of them out there, and still hundreds more sitting on the same pallets on which they were auctioned long ago.

By the logic being espoused here, when Lage stopped making and selling .22 MAC uppers a year or so ago there should have been a drop in MAC machine gun prices. Didn't happen. What happened was the prices of the limited number of all, not just Lage, existing .22 MAC uppers went up.

What is driving up prices of all machine guns, not just MACs, is the fact that there is a limited number of transferable machine guns (i.e., supply and demand). Plus recently, Brandonomics have given us rampant inflation that hasn't been seen in forty years. Prices have exploded on everything, while real value remains the same.

MHO, YMMV, etc. Be well.

Glad I got a few, not sure I'd trade one for less than a M16 or sear

I was just looking for an "economical" Lightning Link. Looks like I missed the boat by a couple of years on that.

There were only 520 RLLs. And some are known to have been irreparably damaged or otherwise destroyed.

Yes. Midwest tactical screwed me on a 12k LL 4 years ago and it's been out of my reach ever since.

Well I’m happy I’m not alone.
A few years back I was busting my A$$ saving for a RLL. After slaving for a long period and selling some nice semi’s, I had just enough money and I mean just enough. I kept looking for a private sale but non ever came up. I then contacted a dealer in my state that had a couple of them. I asked if he’d eat the sales tax and he said “No.”
The kicker is I even purchased a receiver and an original SP1 bolt carrier for a RLL. I ended up giving them away to a great friend and there at a good home now. Looking back, I should have sold a few more guns but it just wasn’t meant to happen.

KickStand yep know the hustle, even when/if you have One, you want more... always less in existance and only getting more $$$ so should get as many as possible yesterday or now Vs. later. We all know government can never ever be trusted either, the "Rights" they give, are the same "Rights" they can take away - anytime/any stupid reason etc. Once MG/SMG, never go back to semi's, way I feel. Good luck on any future Class II endeavors, it's worth it IMHO.

I, too, was on the RLL train for a bit but ultimately decided on a few more Macs and a RR M16 instead. I know RLLs run and can be protected but I just don’t like the idea of them. The old +\- chart never checked out for me.

Nice... I recall seeing cool original ArmaLite AR-10s for about $10-$12K months-year ago, great MG for the $$$, current modern era... not like 10, 20, 30+ years ago ;-)

While I don't think we will return to machine gun prices from 15-20 years ago, I think the current market is unsustainable and overinflated.

I've been hearing that for 20 years.

Well if you got on the Mac train you still got a good ticket!

I've been hearing that for 20 years.

MG prices actually did drop in 2008-2009, mostly due to the "The Big Short" from the over inflated housing market. Then prices climbed right back up beginning in 2010.
MHO, YMMV, etc.

Similar story here. Reuben had a RLL advertised at something like $14,500 6-8 years ago. I was on the phone haggling with him over nickels & dimes and let it slip away. Just another one of my woulda, coulda, shouldas. At least I made the right snap decision when I said "I'll take it" to my $3,500 M11/9 way back when.

I think sellers are simply throwing out any number that sounds good. There is at least one Erb STEN Mk.V on Gunbroker for $14k, among other absurd prices.

I despise the high prices, but every retarded priced gun over time is no longer for sale. They sell or disappear. I’m sure deals are made on the side.

Right now there are 4 ingrams of any type on GB. All the ones you thought would never sell... aren’t there.
