Hello,

I’ve searched high and low within the archived knowledge here, but I can’t quite discern an answer. Any day now (10+ month form 4) I should be able to experiment for myself.

I have a PS 10/9, as many of the new RPB magazines as I can get, and a few different uppers and associated magazines.

I also acquired a single feed bolt, and that’s my question — will my mag catch and double-feed feed ramps interfere with using a single feed bolt and magazines? Given the changing fortunes of my political environment, grabbing a bunch of dual catch Zytels seems like a decent contingency plan. The steel 50 rounders from USMG are also attractive.

Thanks for any clarity offered.

Short version: is a single feed bolt and appropriate magazines a drop in option on a 1973 PS 10/9 lower?

I don’t think zmags or zytels fit a ps m10/9 magwell. They aren’t the same shape. The swd m10/9 uses zytels and sf bolt.

I could be wrong though.

You are right that the dimensions are slighter different — fatter and more rounded across the front
For the single feed bolt. I know you can go the other way (SWD single feed to double feed with a new bolt). I’ll know soon enough I guess.

9mm only. So I guess that’s my answer: no!

Just looking for alternatives while waiting for more double feed 32 rounders to appear.

If your mechanically inclined you can modify Suomi stick double feed stick mags. Otherwise there is no great source of factory style double feeds, which is a damn shame. I ordered some from buymymags.com a little while back, but they completely sucked. Only good for a paperweight unfortunately. Sent em all back.

Any of the members ever post a thread on converting the Suomi mags to fit the old M10/9 double stack guns? Seems like if someone made a batch that ran good they would be golden eggs right now. Can't find any decent aftermarkets at the moment. Lage and USMG are both out of stock.
